New Zealand Team Discussion

I hope they keep him going for the upcoming Pakistan series.

Also, hope he stays fit. An action like Bumrah and a short run up like old Mark Wood doesn't fill the #paceispace mafia with much confidence he won't break down sooner rather than later.

He’s already got quite a few injury issues so at least he’s lore friendly.

I do not think Williamson has played a match fully fit since his IPL injury

Last month, Wellington bowled Otago out for 47, now they are 27/6 vs ND. Let's see if they can avoid the lowest score in the tournament.

i dont like these scenes to be honest, i dont think the old time new zealand greats would have a beer with the aussies after another series loss, the new zealand legends like adam parore, stephen fleming, dion nash.

End of an Era in New Zealand cricket, as Kane Williamson relinquishes captaincy.

I just hope they don't ask Southee to take over now. Williamson stepping down is quite similar to when Stephen Fleming finally stepped down. This team has had some enigmatic captains over the years. Kane led them well to the finals of 2 World events. Still feel they were hard done by that stupid rule in 2019. Nevertheless, he has been wonderful for the country and I do hope he sticks around a little longer to give the likes of Santner or Philips some advice. (feel these are the most likely candidates for NZ captaincy)

The years of them not bringing in youth properly may haunt them now once their current generation keeps walking away steadily.

Much on expected lines, Mitch Santner has been announced as the new white ball captain for New Zealand.

I didn't know though that he was 32 years old. Means, NZ will have to look for a new leader post the next World Cup/ earlier, if Santner chooses to give it up. That said, NZ hasn't had a history of captains leaving mid-way and they tend to have long serving personnel. (exception there was Ross Taylor)
