New Zealand Tour of Bangladesh October/November 2013

Any more inputs on him, my cable operator doesn't show this channel on which the series is being broadcasted..

He was ok I guess, some good balls but there was always a really poor one (half volley or half tracker) not far away. From what I have seen there is definitely something to work with there though just needs some more consistency in landing the ball in the right areas.

Ish Sodhi is a very Australian selection.

Perhaps it's an Antipodean trend?

mominul was awesome today...alhamdulillah...what a knock!! from this young kid!! :cheers

The spinners have performed as expected really which has massively let us down. Now I'm realising how much I under appreciate Vettori, I mean at least he bowls maidens without taking wickets these guys do the same but go for four an over. Far too early to be playing Sodhi in a test, while Bruce Martin I'm afraid is just hopelessly out of his depth.

Yeah, as pretty much expected our two specialist spinners have just been woeful. They'd be wicketless in 43 overs if it wasn't for that long hop getting hit straight up in the air. At least McCullum has kind of summed it up and bowled Williamson the most because he's clearly our best spin option atm.

This pitch has been a disgrace so far, absolutely lifeless and should be banned from hosting test matches. Although in saying this I've probably jinxed our second innings and we'll get rolled for 150...

Well said (from cricinfo):

Simon: "So. A brief and failed experiment from NZ with the three spinners. Clearly there are not three capable of competing at test level. Williamson, as a part-timer, offers far more than Martin, who is awful, and Sodhi, who isn't yet ready for the step up. If these guys can't cut against the 10th ranked side, then they don't belong there."

Astle and Patel are probably both sitting back somewhere having a little laugh.

Patel should feel especially hard done by. I have no idea what we are going to do for the next test. I would probably drop both Sodhi and Martin and bring in Gillespie and Wagner, both of them are next to useless theres not really any point playing them. Williamson would have to get through a hell of a lot of overs though.

Surely it's time to give Taylor a bowl? 2/10 of our wickets were taken by their 7th and 8th bowlers.

If McCullum loses this I vote that we don't let him back in the country, anyone else?

Seriously, another failure from him and he's going to be averaging under 30 as captain, while Taylor was averaging 50 as it...

Pretty disappointing Bangladesh aren't even giving it a crack, I mean come on this is the flattest pitch I have seen in a very long time against a pretty poor bowling attack. They don't get many chances for test victories so why not? I guess for them a draw is like a win anyway..

I'm no fan of McCullums but I think we really just need to accept this from him now, hes not much of a batsman never has been, never will be, I do like his captaincy on the other hand. Its just a shame Taylor batted so much better when he was captain and not as well without it.

ball wasn't coming on to the bat so it was never going to lend itself to a chase, NZ certainly took their time posting their target.

certainly hope the next pitch is a bit better though, bangladesh should be able to challenge NZ at home so a result pitch would be interesting.

I'm a bit worried about the next test tbh, I have a feeling Bangladesh will win because they have the better attack. There is just no way I can see us taking 20 wickets right now on those decks.
