New Zealand tour of India (Sept-Oct 2016)

Resounding win for India! Inspite of NZ showing moments of resilence in the two games so far, India have made the final result look utterly dominating. Well done to the boys! Hope they don't let their guard down in the final test.

Saha has to be the biggest positive from this series .. and the WI one. Scored crucial runs with the lower middle order and the tail in critical situations. This gives us a lot more confidence to play with 5 bowlers whenever needed. Finally seems to be living up to his rep and filling up the void that was left by MSD

Hope he continues like this

The cancelling of series is not happening. But it looks like BCCI is taking some weird steps as if to let the world know that they are not happy implementing the Lodha reforms. Who cares? They have to implement what the highest court of the land (Supreme Court) has said, whether they like it or not.

Its already a treading news in FB.

Dhawan has been injured and that makes room for Gambhir into the playing XI. If he scores well in both the innings then I don't see any obstacle stopping him to be the regular member of the test team and later on, he can even be picked in ODI/T20Is. He was the man to win us the WC and he surely deserves more chances than so called Shikhar Dhawan. He has improved his techniques and can play more flexibly than before.

Wow, whats happening - so many injuries

Suresh Raina recalled for NZ ODIs | Cricket | ESPN Cricinfo

India ODI squad for first 3 ODI's
: Rohit, Rahane, Kohli, Pandey, Raina, Dhoni, Pandya, Axar, Jayant, Mishra, Bumrah, Kulkarni, Umesh, Mandeep, Jadhav

So as expected, Dhawan is dropped and Rahane is likely to open with Rohit with Mandeep as the backup opener. I am a bit surprised by Raina's inclusion since he hasn't done that well lately to guarantee a spot in the squad let alone final 11. I am hoping that Kedar starts the series before Raina since he has a hundred to his name from that Zimbabwe tour. Happy to see they have picked Hardik Pandya over Binny and I am looking forward to seeing Hardik in the ODI series. Another surprise is that they have dropped Sran which is weird because he was the best bowler in the ODI series against Zimbabwe. They could have included Sran in place of Jayant Yadav who is unlikely to feature in any of the matches. Jayant is a good longer format bowler but his limited over stats are not very impressive. He is a good bowler but too early to throw him into limited overs squad. They have only picked three fast bowlers instead of four. No surprises in the exclusion of Shami, Ashwin and Jadeja considering the injuries and long home season that we have. They clearly want to keep Shami, Ashwin and Jadeja fit for all the 13 tests and therefore they don't feature in the list.

Sad. Mayank Agarwal had gone unnoticed.

I think he is still on radar but they can't just throw out Mandeep especially after his performances in Zimbabwe. I still think that Mayank will get a chance in T20's before ODI's.
