New Zealand's Tour Of India Aug-Sep 2012

All I am really interested in is coming up next- The Return of the Yuvraj :yes

Now comes the return of Yuvraj Singh :D. Very excited about it and really want to see him bat.

:thumbs

Really excited to see how Yuvi goes and I really hope he does well.

Congrats to India on defeating one of the weakest Kiwi sides weve seen in ages, good bowling from Southee and good batting from Kholi once more, Ashwin didnt impress.

LOL and they gave him man of the series.

Therefore we have:

1. Guptill
2. McCullum
3. Williamson
4. Taylor
5. Flynn
6. Franklin -> Ryder
7. van Wyk -> Watling
8. Vettori/Patel -> Nethula?
9. Bracewell
10. Southee
11. Boult

This line-up looks decent enough for test cricket, especially whenever Ryder and Vettori comes back.

Was good to see NZ competitive in this test after a poor first test and tour of the Caribbean. I think their performance vs Australia in hobart last year, is a better reflection of the teams ability (especially the quicks) - rather than in the last few months.

This is the kind of pitch Puddleduck was talking about, a pitch with some carry to encourage the faster bowlers.

The first one at Hyderabad was as good.....

Mahatma Gandhi is a woman.

Ashwin didn't impress!!??!! Lol, you gotta be kidding me! :lol

Ashwin's bowling, Pujara's batting, Kohli's good run of form, Dhoni's test form, Ojha's bowling, Sehwag's slip catching were the positives from the series.

Gambhir's batting, Sehwag's batting, Sachin's batting, Suresh Raina as a test cricketer, Zaheer's bowling were some negatives from the series.

Hopefully Sehwag will bounce back strongly in the T20s. I have a strong feeling that Sehwag won't do very well in the 2 T20s against NZ but very well in the WC. ;) :D

These two T20i's should be fun. Both the teams will play for fair practice for WC. So expect Sehwag not to blast;).

No, not really, the ball barely carried to the keeper on that pitch.

Zaheer bowled just fine, it was just that Yadav couldn't support him at the other end.

The game ended in 4 days and the spinners got good turn from the pitch. Both Ojha and Ashwin were able to get good turn and bounce. What else do you want?

We were talking about the fast bowlers getting some purchase...

I think that discussion also involving puddleduck was about sporting wickets in India. A sporting wicket is not something that offers help to fast bowlers alone. A sporting wicket is something that offers an equal chance for bowlers to pick wickets. A wicket that helps spinners a lot is a sporting wicket too.

Yes, but in terms of providing something for everyone the Bangalore wicket was better, the fast bowlers got wickets, the spinners got wickets and on top of all the batsmen got runs.

3 for 158, hmm, not good enough for me.

Bowling more overs then Zaheer Khan will of course result in more runs logically, won't it? As I said in my post that Umesh was horrible in first test but he was much better in the second test.

It would, but in terms of economy rates Yadav was poor, very expensive.
