New Zealand's Tour Of India Aug-Sep 2012

If Prasanna or Bedi played in today's era of T20 cricket, they would have been as ineffective as Harbhajan or Ashwin are becoming. The art of classical spin bowling is slowly dying.

I do agree with you there, Bedi and Prasan would've want to make the big bucks rather.

Who would'nt want to mak mega bucks ? Its but natural. However, the art of spin bowling is dying in India, amongst our current crop of spinners. The likes of Vettori, Swann and Ajmal are doing really very very well. Apart from Pakistan, no sub-continental team has a great bench when it comes to spin. It is the English who have better spinners anyday.

Well pace bowling never had life really in India, if spin is als dying then India shouldnt play international cricket at all.

I maintain till date that we won the 2011 World Cup cause of our batting. We are one team which solely relies on batting strength. However, that should not mean that we ought to stop playing cricket altogether.

To hit back, NZL can't boast of much strength either as they are a far cry from the sides of the Flemings and the Crowes. That way you too shouldnt be playing cricket. We can add a few more countries to that list as well seeing as they do lack something or the other.

Just remembered that war of words...Years back, Bedi gave a statement that Harbhajan is a javelin thrower :D to which Bhajji hit back saying that if Bedi was playing cricket in the present era...the batsmen would have carted his bowling.... :p

Coming back to this series...Narine recently showed the way to tame the kiwis....so hopefully the Indian spinners(?) :D take a cue from that.....

Having said this one thing is for certain....the curators will prepare dead tracks....so that there is full house...expect scores of 300-350....bowlers getting carted all over....:noway

Why should NZ be removed they aren't destroying cricket as the Indians are doing, therefore they deserve no punishment but the Indians should be banished (from international cricket for a while).

Well if btting i dying in Pakistan then they shouldn't ply international cricket at al
If Australia is having thin batting resources in upsoming years then they shouldn't play international cricket at all
If WI collapses too much then they shouldn't play international cricket at all
If NZ players are short of talent then they shouldn't play international cricket at all
If SA don't have good spinners then they should stop playing international cricket at all
If fast bowling is dying in Sri Lanka then they shoud stop playing international cricket at al
If English player do not cosist enough English players, then they should stop plying internatonal cricket at all

We shoud banish every tweaking international team and let Ireland dminate the ICC rankings.

Indian team is not destroying cricket it is the Indian cricket board that is doing it.

Yeah whatever the Indian team is run by the BCCI, sadly in order to punish the BCCI the players and fans would also have to pay. Without the board we wont have a Team India.

And how exaclty is the Indian cricket team or the BCCI destroying cricket ? I am under the impression that the cricket economy runs largely due to the Indian team. IF you care to elaborate on the same, please do so.

Kindly list out the flaws that have caused cricket to have been destructed.

I ask you the same question that I asked him- list it out-as to how exaclty the BCCI have destroyed cricket.

Its simple the BCCI continued support of T20, young players entering the game are being lured to the T20 arena due to the money involved, they arent concerned about playing traditional cricket anymore. Hence the tests are reducing even the ODI are reducing and its due to the BCCI and fellow Indian supporters like yourself who are too naive to see the big picture, all you guys are concerned about is having your pockets filled with money.

Dude, listen and get your facts straight.

1. The BCCI has started the IPL. However, it is completely voluntary participation. That being the case, why does NZL not stop sending its players to the IPL. Ban your players for taking part in it.

2. T20 leagues have been mushrooming all over the world. Not my problem if your NZC is incapable of having a tour of its own.

3. BCCI did not invent T20 cricket. The concept started in England.

4. Reduction in tests- The public interest has vaned. Its not the players who aint interested. The overall public interest has vaned. Players the likes of Gayle and Pollard are different breeds altogether.

5. The introduction of the shortest format of the game has actually been brought by NZ- Martin Crowe started the SuperMax series, which was quite a rage in your country. Pity, the lack of proper marketing prohibited your nation from becoming a super power.

6. BCCI supporting the game- yes, I agree. However, I disagree with the fact that we are luring people to the shortest format. There is a clear division as to how much a U-19 player would get if he is playing for a franchise. And it is not as if we have done away with all our test matches, ODIs and domestics in favor of the IPL.

If test cricket cannot survive the onslaught of another format, then it deserves to die its own death! People are going to look at ways where they want to make the biggest buck. This world has always looked for ways to maximize their earning potential. Even we do it. We move jobs depending on our pay package.

Test cricket will survive. Its popularity might not be as high as it used to be before, but it will survive. And that's enough for it. In fact people might start appreciating tests more after seeing the slog fests in T20 cricket.

This post remains the bottom line and no one can argue against it, its reality when the IPL is over and India start placing there resources on longer forms of the game then return with your arguments, I leave this matter here since we are going off topic.
