If you're town :

As you have two votes on you you can claim your character and role. Be very careful doing this though as if you have a big role blabbing will make you a big target for the mafia at night.

If you're cult/mafia :

Try to create a character and a role yourself in an attempt to fool those lynching you. For example you could pick a random sport start and claim you're townie, cop or another role.

Seeing as this is newbie mafia we might as well try to help you in the right direction.

I understand what you're saying but you can be subtle about it. He was lurking day 1. You could've used that as a perfectly valid reason.
