Nfl 09/10

Some absolute cracking games last night. Pretty much all of them went down to the wire.

Gutted Bengals didn't win, they fought back well to tie it up but a penalty on the last drive cost them. Oakland once again cause an upset sneaking past Denver.

The AFC is really hotting up, going to be a very exciting last few weeks.

Well Carolina won their game against Vikings, to late though for play offs.

Very surprised Carolina won. Thought better of recording the game because I thought Minnesota would walk all over them.

On a fantasy note, I dropped Steve Smith for having a dreadful season and he goes and racks up 30 fantasy points. Had I had him in I probably would be in the final of my fantasy league. Brady had a terrible game as well meaning I have to settle for a 3rd place play-off. Gutted.

wow normally you only see plays like that in HighSchool, not even college!

Last resort. They aren't 'dumb shits', they were getting battered and it was at the end of the half. The holder should just have thrown it directly to the kicker and let him run with a mass of players blocking for him.

They are still a solid team. They'll do much better next season.

No way, when there is guaranteed points on the board (37 yard FG is one in NFL) you take them.

This is not backyard football, these people get paid 10s of millions of dollars for results, not for shenanigans

24-3 and 24-0, barely any difference. I would've gone for the TD, and you may say "you're just a stupid Englishman who knows nothing about American Football" but I've watched the game for many years and I have a very deep knowledge of it.

A TD brings them back in it. Had they executed the play better they may have got that TD, and then people would be saying it was geinous play. It's just like playing a reverse sweep in the last over of a session in cricket. If you hit it for four it's a great shot, if you get out you're an idiot.

I know you know a lot of the game, but I played football in junior high and freshman year of highschool and our coaches always taught us that a guaranteed score is always better than nothing. Especially when there is another half of the game still to be played!

It's fairly obvious there are two completely different ways you can look at it, and I don't think either are wrong.

What position did you play?

I've always wished I had grown up in America. Three main reasons. A) So I could play American Football as a Wide Reciever (I've got good hands and good speed). B) I love American television, especially crime-dramas. C) The weather is much better. It is either really sunny and hot or it is cold and snowy (We rarely get snow here and it's basically always raining)

I initially was picked as receiver because of my speed, but after getting laid out a few times I was put on defense. Nothing worse than going up for a ball and having someone spear tackle you in mid air.

My brother was a much more talented player than me, he played Varsity football for 3 years and finished with over 10 TDs and over 1000 receiving yards in his final season.

YouTube - Reggie Bush gets HIT

Basically a play like this ended my WR career, it was a screen pass and I was laid out the second I caught the ball. Was really embarrassing as the wind got knocked out of my lungs and I had to be carted off the field. ...
