No patch for AC09 - officially confirmed

However, one major error that was made was the exclusion of Graham Manou from Australia's Ashes squad.

They made a game based on the series, and forgot the most simple thing, the players who take part.

Pretty hard to overlook.

Okay, after reading 8 pages of the thread, I think this.

EA made a game, only released it for the PC and the PS2, no 'next-generation' version. Never even turn up to take criticism, forget about a patch. Yet it is regarded as a better game just because they've been using the same engine and stuff over the years (Which infact, I believe originated from their NBA series. There's still some football / NBA code in that big file!) and some NBA guys made some tools to patch their games. Hear hear, EA didn't make the game editable it was actually people who spent loads of time and effort long ago and EA couldn't be bothered to change anything. Yet people whine for 3 months and then forget what happened.

Then we have Codemasters. Yes, they released BLIC 2005, which wasn't very good. Yes they released BLIC 2007, which was awful too. They released AC09, which from my general impression on the forums is a far better game than previous Cricket games. Keep in mind that they actually released two games on the Xbox 360 and one on the PS3 as well, so much for the 'next-generation' demands, only to be forgotten later. And then they came on the forums, interacted with people, took criticism, began working towards it, began putting together a patch, which again from my impressions on the forum, was coming along pretty well. Some unfortunate incident happened and the developer company sadly closed down. Yet they still came out and declared that there would be no patch, rather than becoming silent ducks. And what do they get? fearsome tweak loads of abuse, personal abuse, and kids slagging them off.

So much appreciation for even trying. That's pretty fair guys. :sarcasm:

Running when ball is in the fielders hand, not returning to crease, hitting all the spinners whet ever they ball. Getting out caught on free hits. Leaving the ball in the 49th over. Wicketkeeper jumping up every ball. Getting LBW when the ball is missing the stump by 6feet. Most unrealistic AI gameplay ever. No slip catches. I can go on and on !!!! if u ask me this is just crap

well bro y dont u play online then it resolves most of the issues
only prob is the quitters which can be fixed by playin amongst mates u know

well i guess it is very good cricket game
i hv got it on ps3
n dont think hv played any other game as consistently as this one
i think online play resolves most of the flaws tbh

Does this mean that the guys at P.C. can finally get started with patches of their own? PC version only, of course.

I feel for you console users though. Hopefully the next game will come out properly tested and with more content (how can we have a proper SA series with only two or so stadiums?)

I hope companies stop making games for PC. If I could put a curse on it, I would. Death to PC gaming.

I bet it will in 10-20 years mate, people just want plug in play now and younger generations are just getting lazier by the day. Also the fact that they have to make PC games cheaper than console versions and rampant piracy makes it obvious in my books. Each newer generation of console will be more "PC" like anyways with browsers, media applications etc that eventually I think PCs will be obsolete for gaming/media purposes.

Personally look forward to the day.

Never! May PC gaming live on.

Anyway, PC gaming helps Console gamers, in thatit can be used as a guinea pig for improving games, ala Ashes Cricket 2009.

PC will never be "obsolete" for gaming. Any technology that comes on a console comes years before, on a PC. The thing that might kill PC gaming is the lack of games, still however I feel FPS' at least will continue to reign on PC's.

What have you got against PC gamers? It's not their fault that Transmission folded you know.

To paraphrase a Man Utd song:

We'll never die,
We'll never die.
We'll never die,
We'll never die!

So stick your consoles up your (you know what)
'Cos PC gaming'll never die!

Never! May PC gaming live on.

True! Imagine if the patch was released, but only as a final patch for all formats, with no beta testing on PC first? While Beta 1 was a lot better than the vanilla game, it still had a fair amount of problems, only some of which were solved by Beta 2.

As digital downloads become more prevalent, I can only see PC gaming becoming stronger and stronger. I can see it dying out in retail though.

Yeah, there were quite a few closed beta tests aye?

Anyway, is there now a legal way for us to share patches?
