No patch for AC09 - officially confirmed

On to some constructive stuff -- q for the coding gurus here: is there *any* way to salvage a beta for us poor souls who bought the online version from gamesplanet? We can't even sell the damn thing. At least the poor console owners can dupe, i mean sell it to someone else. Not to mention, the beta patch code changes for the console version may be much more complex, while the gamesplanet version is still a PC version, so hopefully not too different?

It might be possible. Will require reverse engineering the beta patch and might take a long time if it ever gets done.

Don't worry guys, TAOC is coming :laugh :sarcasm

:p

Just I doubt TAOC will be one of those things ;)

well its a sad news...I have been lucky enough to play the patch on console at TG and let me tell you that patch was really good. its a shame we cant get it. Well i couldnt say anything before as i was asked by TG not to say anything on forums. TG was already planning on next ashes in 2010. there were going to start on that pretty soon. i guess thats not gona happen now. Let me tell you...TG were very passionate about this game and patch. Anyway.....its sad. :facepalm

I'm not backing Codies, I'm backing the game.

Tbh, after I play the game I don't really care who made it.

It's about the franchise.

guys as its over lets forget it and as there is no game up around so i want to say to the patchmakers can they edit blic05 again like making upto date roster and gameplay patches if these two are made i think it will be superb as it has all the things needed in a cricket game. What u guys think.thank u

Something people may have missed (Rod Cousens is CEO of Codemasters). Was originally posted last month.

Q: The Ashes cricket title was a big success for you this year - but the developer Transmission entered voluntary liquidation last month. What does that mean for the franchise?

Rod Cousens: Well, first of all we're always sad when a company has difficulties that either forces it our of business or calls its very viability into question, and we're conscious of the fact that it's a significant developer in Australia - that it employs people and that there are livelihoods at stake.

From our point of view, if we can work with a situation that will see some form of revival or re-emergence in another guise, then we would be as supportive as we can. We continue to maintain a dialogue with all the parties, including the administrator in Australia.

Obviously around that we're very conscious of the fact that we do intend to continue with the Ashes series, and if nothing emerges out of that scenario, then we have alternative development prospects which would see the game continue.

But we sincerely hope that there is an ongoing basis of sorts for the development team that has written the game for us.

I honestly thought this PC would act like a pressure group who would push developers of cricket games to produce, more efficient, more effective cricket games!!! Didn?t expect the administration of the forum to end up in the back pocket of some BS selling greedy developer. I really don?t get why they hate EA so much and love codies like they are gods. For me both are the same? and don?t tell me codis did gave us a beta patch because they didn?t. they didn?t want to give us anything, it was transmission who did something good!!! I don?t trust PC anymore. I don?t think its in the side of PC cricket game lovers !!!

Man, that?s is so true !! but its so unfair as well. What I hate most is PC also backing developers then us!!! Well some developers

Customer care and customer relations are a good basis on how you can judge a company. They cared about you, they cared about the game.

We are here to promote cricket games, when we get a chance to work with someone who gives a damn, why shouldn't we? Don't say it's just us that hates EA either, ask every member on this site. Did they ever give you the impression of caring? No. Did TG? Most definitely.

Just to add a slight correction there we don't hate EA. We just think they need to raise their game (in more ways than one).

and you honestly think ashes09 as it is, is not so bad !!! WOW

I wouldn't say it's crap. It's just got flaws. The gameplay engine is solid, and the graphics are brilliant.

I'd just say it lacks those finishing touches.

Running when ball is in the fielders hand, not returning to crease, hitting all the spinners whet ever they ball. Getting out caught on free hits. Leaving the ball in the 49th over. Wicketkeeper jumping up every ball. Getting LBW when the ball is missing the stump by 6feet. Most unrealistic AI gameplay ever. No slip catches. I can go on and on !!!! if u ask me this is just crap

But they tried to fix these bugs. Unfortunately, Transmission were unable to hold off the financial crisis, and were forced to shut down. Can you blame them for this?
