It's actually very simple. What I do is just find a photo with the player in a white kit. Then I add another layer, set it to multiply, and use a simple paint brush to colour the kit the colours I want. From there it's easy enough to add logos etc.
Does the same procedure follow for inserting the logos

Stallions sweep aside Gators in 126 run rout

MatchLogo-2.png

ShaneBond.png

Bond was at his best, picking up 3 wickets

Both teams came of heavy losses in their previous games but the Stallions, after being rolled by the Waccas, were keen to inflict some damage of their own.

The Christchurch crowd was treated to some more McCullum magic as he blasted his way to 96 not out from just 62 balls. He employed traditional drives and powerful pulls and hooks with innovative shots inside out over the covers and scoops over the keeper's head for a terrifically entertaining innings, up there with his T20 hundred against Australia on the same ground. Jayawardene also batted superbly for his 72 but was somewhat overshadowed by McCullum's heroics.

In reply the Gators were routed, as all the Stallions bowlers were right on their game. Bond was irresistable in his 4 over spell for just 10 runs, dismissing both openers who had put on 140 runs in the previous match, in spectacular fashion. McCullum was on top of the world and effected a miraculous stumping off a Bond slower ball to bamboozle Sehwag for a royal duck, before Bond uprooted two of Kallis' off stumps with an unplayable inswinging yorker. Neil Wagner with two wickets, and then the Stallions trio of spinners with 1 or 2 each, then continued to take apart the Gators innings, and in between times Bond also bowled Paul Collingwood for a golden duck. Whereas the Stallions' failure of an innings against the Waccas was simply soft, the Gators were blown away by a bowling performance unlike any seen in the OPL so far.

@Dipak: Yes - just add them to a new layer. It's your choice whether to keep the layer normal or set it to multiply. I personally find it depends on the ype of photo and logo as to which one looks better...

Lol, Southern wasted up.

McCullum and Jayawardene played very well with the bat, before their bowlers cleaned UT up.

Northern were comfortable winners over Pacific before, Tendulkar was far too classy.

KIU JC, you're getting down to the business end of the competition, hopefully one of the NZ teams will have what it takes.

That is a really big victory for a T20. Southern played really well.
Wagner and Bond's figures are ridiculous.

Thunder make it 5 from 5 with another big chase

Kamran Akmal - winning fans and winning games

The Queensland Thunder - unfancied before the tournament began - have maintained their unbeaten record in the inaugural OPL with another pleasing victory over the Western Australia Waccas.

The Waccas batted first and made the most of a good batting track and average bowling attack with dominant innings from two of their local players. Mike Hussey showed why he is a world class player with his first significant performance of the tournament, while Shaun Marsh built on previous contributions and combined with Hussey for an unbroken 143 run stand. The pair worked their way into their innings, taking lots of singles and twos for a start before closing the innings with a real bang - Yusuf Pathan and Chris Simpson were on the unfortunate receiving end.

But the Thunder have become very adept at chasing down scores and they succeeded again today. The mighty pair of Akmal and Hayden again performed today, putting on 99 for the first wicket, and from there important cameos from Lee Carseldine and JP Duminy saw the Thunder home. Kamran Akmal continued to impress after a horror test series when he was last down under - he has gradually won over many Queensland fans with a cavalcade of big innings and has really become a feature of the Thunder franchise. He won the MOM award on this occassion for his attacking 74 from just 49 balls which led his team to victory with 14 balls to spare.

Hayden and Akmal(!) really took the game away from Western Australia. Western Australia were pretty weak in terms of bowling though, they could have done with another bowler/bowling all-rounder as Napier/Johnson/Noffke are probably good enough to bat at 7-9 in T20 cricket.

Taylor show isn't enough as Lions' campaign ends

MatchLogo-4.png

RossTaylor.png

Ross Taylor gave it everything for his beloved Lions, but it just wasn't enough

The Lions finished off their OPL campaign on a sad note with a fighting loss to the top-of-the-group Tasmania Diablos. It was a massive effort to get that far but on reflection the Lions only won one game - their first of the tournament against the New South Wales Stingers.

They bowled first in the match and gave an honest effort but the result they got was mediocre. On a flat but fairly juicy Eden Park strip, 179 was just too many to give away and even though they tried hard, there were just too many misfields and sloppy pieces of cricket. For the Diablos, every batsman who faced a ball made at least 20, with Tim Paine amongst the runs again with a fluent 40, and AB De Villiers continuing to score heavily, this time top scoring with 65. Simpson Obed had the cricketing day of his life, dismissing Tim Paine and Travis Birt with his spinners, and Dale Steyn also put in the last of a string of good bowling performances. For a player who could have been the show pony of a struggling side, he bowled with heart throughout the tournament and didn't let his teammates down.

In reply there was hope for the Lions as despite two early wickets, Ross Taylor appeared to be in the zone of his life. He hit the ball cleanly and scored quickly with strokes all around the wicket, playing in similar fashion to what he did in the 2009 HRV Cup final, and his hundred against Australia that same season. But unfortunately in the end he didn't get enough support and the Lions fell 32 runs short. The Pakistani pair of Aamer and Asif were outstanding once again, and they were ably backed up by spinner Xavier Doherty and pace bowler Brett Geeves.

I say this after basically every update, but this story is amazing. The writing is great, the concept is fantastic and the graphics are out of this world. Among other things, I really do think that the AUS and NZ cricket boards should take up this idea, and use the teams and graphics you have here!

Pretty big fail by Noema-Barnett with the bat, and lol at AB bowling.

Like Dragon Fire said, that kit on Taylor looks great, extremely well done.

I completely agree with Dragon Fire, this is a amazing story. The presentation and writing both are great as expected in a JC's story.

I still want JC to bring back that Test cricket medal story. It just blew me away, exceptional it was!

Gilchrist hudnred knocks out Gators

MatchLogo-4.png

AshleyNoffke.png

Noffke also bowled well to pick up 3 wickets

The Gators have become the "Lions of Group A" of the Super 8, knocked out of the OPL after failing to win a single game in the Super 8 stage.

They made a good fight of the game today, though, even though they were blasted away by Adam Gilchrist to begin. Today's innings was a spectacle worthy of a place in Gilchrist's DVD "Best of the Best", as it was quite simply as special as any T20 innings ever played. He struck the ball so powerfully through and over the off side and then swept and lofted drove a continuus array of sixes off the spinners towards the latter end of his innings. The bowlers were quite simply helpless as he took his side to a formidable 178.

The Gators made a good fist of their reply courtesy of another excellent performance from Jacuqes Kallis who made 91, but a string of late wickets from Ashley Noffke swept aside the Gators middle and lower order and, after being well on track at 150/3 with 24 balls and only 29 runs required, rendered them just behind the 8 ball and meant that they fell a heartbreaking 8 runs short.

So what does this mean in context of the group? The Western Waccas have 2 wins from 3, while tomorrow's clash between the Thunder and the Stallions will decide the placings. Should the Thunder win, they will go through as top qualifiers to play the Major semifinal against the Tasmania Diablos. But if the Stallions win, they will likely go through to play the Diablos on superior run rate and either the Waccas or Thunder will qualify for the minor semi. So no side is safe at this stage!

I'm just left with no words after seeing the kits I designed getting endorsed by players! Superb graphical stuff!:yes
