^Yeah Cricinfo is made out to be the authority on everything but clearly it isn't always reliable.
The Oceania Premier League site is probably the best cricket one around tbh...:D

Waccas Squad: Gayle adds to strong batting squad
Team News from Dylan Cleaver, OPL correspondent

The Western Australia Waccas have shelled out the big money for West Indian opener Chris Gayle, but you'd wonder why, when they already have the options of Adam Gilchrist and Shaun Marsh.

Coming with a price tag of $900,000, Chris Gayle adds to the strong line up of left handed batsmen - as well as the a fore mentioned openers, the Waccas sport Mike Hussey, Marcus North and Luke Pomersbach. Obviously keen on cricketers of the left persuasion, the Waccas have also bought left arm paceman Ryan Sidebottom for $450,000 to go along with left arm quick Mitchell Johnson. They also purchased the services of Saeed Ajmal, Graeme Napier and Munaf Patel, all for $400,000 whle Adrian Barath was great value at just $200,000.

Also talented within the Waccas' ranks are Mitchell Marsh, all rounder Adam Voges and wicketkeeper-batsman Luke Ronchi, all who have represented Australia. There is a lack of quality bowlers aside from Johnson but you'd guess that was why 4 of their 6 buys are frontline bowlers.

The Entire Squad is:

Adam Gilchrist (c)
Marcus North (vc)
Michael Hussey
Mitchell Johnson
Mitchell Marsh
Shaun Marsh
Ashley Noffke
Luke Pomersbach
Luke Ronchi
Adam Voges

strong squad for the WACAS, I expect Munaf and Sidebottom to play well at home, the WACA pitch will suit their type of bowling.

Wasps Squad: Pietersen, Dilshan make for innovative style squad
Team News from Dylan Cleaver, OPL correspondent

The final team to announce their squad, the Wasps certainly appeared to have spent up large on their players. Kevin Pietersen becomes the biggest buy of the auction at $1m AUD, while Tillakaratne Dilshan is not far off with $900,000. Stylish batsmen Hashim Amla and Ian Bell would probably be disappointed with their salaries of $400,000 - probably an unfair but nonetheless true indicator that proven T20 success is more important than general class.

Graeme Smith earnt slightly more, probably due to his success in the IPL, signing up for $500,000 while Shakib Al-Hasan was unlucky to not earn any more than $150,000 - that makes two from two for the poor Bangladeshi in terms of unlucky auctions, following an IPL auction where the test player of the year was not even bought.

Traditionally strong in Australian state cricket, the Wasps' local players are almost all fringe players - some have represented Australia and others have come close. Captain Cameron White will lead the charge with Peter Siddle, Dirk Nannes and David Hussey all having also represented Australia recently in Twenty20.

The Entire Squad is:

Cameron White (c)
Shane Harwood
Brad Hodge
David Hussey
Andrew McDonald
Clint McKay
Dirk Nannes
Chris Rogers
Peter Siddle
Matthew Wade

The wasps seem to be the team to beat to me. Very strong squad.

They have all the overseas batsmen, though Shakib is an allrounder. I think that might backfire having no quality INT. bowler in their team.

Wasps look really a strong squad to me, with their overseas giants piled up with them with highly decent local ones.

Wow, look at their domestic and international players compared to some of the other teams.

Their pace bowling does look a bit thin however, with only four specialists.

I guess we can finally see some action now. :)

Spot the Ball: Answer!

2rnhgqu.jpg

As is plain to see, B7 was in fact the correct answer for the latest edition of Spot the Ball. There were many answers which were close, but none more so than riz7khan12's pick of C7, which is obviously just one square away from B7.

So well done to Riz, you will receive your reward of 10,000 vcash. And you also receive a spontaneous compliment courtesy of just_cricket :D, commending your efforts which you have put into your story: http://www.planetcricket.org/forum...-supremacy-its-fifty-fifty-sl-v-sa-69704.html. It is a pleasure to read and it is also pleasing to see such a good reader and follower of others' stories have some success with their own. KUTGW!

So sorry but if my calculations are right I'll have it for you in about a week.
It is guaranteed because it is in the bank but you'll just have to wait a bit longer than usual...
