ODI/Test Series- Australia vs Bangladesh (brad352 vs madmattg)

Match Update: Lunch Day 2

Australia 3/104 (31) RR- 3.36

Martyn 20* (40) 1x4
Lehmann 9* (9) 1x4
Hayden 61 (105) 4x4
Ponting 11 (22) 1x4
Langer 2 (11)

A very even first session with Australia scoring 99 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. The Bangladesh bowling has been tight so the Australian run rate has been well restricted,

however they have not looked overly threatening.

Match Update: 2:40 pm Day 2

Australia 4/159 (44) RR- 3.61

Martyn 56* (80) 4x4
Katich 13* (25) 1x4
Lehmann 13 (23) 1x4

The Australians are in a strong position an hour after lunch, just 21 runs shy of the Bangladesh target and with Martyn and Katich looking quite comfortable. They will be looking to gain a big first innings lead in good batting conditions and give their bowlers some runs to play with for the 2nd innings.

Nice start.

Looks like your being alot more patient that I was.

I will ensure I place the shot better in my second innings.

In WA at moment so I look forward to returning and seeing exactly what sort of lead you do obtain, if any.

Match Update: Tea Day 2

Australia 8/199 (58) RR- 3.43

Lehmann 13 (23) 1x4
Hayden 61 (105) 4x4
Ponting 11 (22) 1x4

The Australians suffered a big collapse after the loss of Katich, 4 wickets lost for just 40 runs. The tail enders will be hoping to help Martyn to his century and give Australia a respectable total.

Match Update: 4:24 pm Day 2

Australia 207 (60.3) RR- 3.42

Martyn 85 (131) 5x4
McGrath 2* (2)
Gillespie 1 (3)
Lee 3 (14)
Warne 3 (5)
Gilchrist 7 (19)
Katich 16 (30) 1x4
Lehmann 13 (23) 1x4
Hayden 61 (105) 4x4
Ponting 11 (22) 1x4
Langer 2 (11)

Mashrafe 11.3-1-3/37
Tapash Baisya 17-0-0/66
Rafique 13-1-4/28
Mahmud 19-0-3/75

A superb bowling performance from Bangladesh has restricted the Australian first innings lead to just 27 runs. Hayden and Martyn were the only batsmen to look comfortable at any stage, the latter unfortunate to be given out LBW to end the innings with a century within reach. The match remains evenly poised after both team's poor batting performances and looks almost certain to bring a result.
