I honestly dont believe west indies will win but'll i support them fully i really didn't enjoy the aussies performance today the umpire pratically help them on thier way.

Well I'm backing the Windies to win this tournament. They've been the better of the three teams and deserve to win the tournament. I guess it's in a sense a good time for India to lose, only a month's away from Champion's trophy, they know now that they have the ability to beat Australia and stand a good chance of winning the trophy if they get the perfect side on the park.

Completely agreed. If instead of Symonds there were Indians and Pakistanis they will be having a meeting with the match refree after the match.

Yeah they always call up indians, pakistani, west indians, sri lanka's etc for over appealing and there actions but this is so rarely ever seen for england australia and new zealand the whole icc board is corrupt.

Think you guys are going slightly overboard. Yes the umpires have made very poor decisions which may have likely affected the outcome of the game, but calling the ICC corrupt is completely unjustified.

Symonds appealed three times convinced the bowl had hit the bat and they all clearly didn't yet he'll never be charged with over appealing i guess thats just the way cricket is.

It is completely legal to appeal as many times as you want from the ball being delivered to the next runnup! (out or not out, it is legal if you think there is even a slight chance it may be given)

It is how vocally hard the appeal is which sometimes puts cricketer's in hot water.

Ohh ok thanks for the info. But still his appeal certainly caused the umpire to make that desicion.

So Mr.Chappell...interested in doing more strategies and variations
in the team ??

why the hell has pathan been dropped ?? he needs to play more in order
to get his confidence back.plus,he can always come in handy with the bat !
i agree with kapil dev. he said too much variations might hurt the team's
performance.also, chappell was doing some stupid things instead of sticking to the basics & telling pathan to bowl at one & only one stump and hit it as many times as possible.

and whats the deal with ponting ? he acts as a baby ! :mad
like the reaction after sachin was called back & that appeal from point
when symonds was bowling.he was the only one to appeal.in fact, he came
running/appealing all the way from point !
he needs to put on pampers and go crying towards mommy !

Oh really then why Sehwag got fined for 1 test match infact half of the team against South Africa in 2001 for appealing. And bcoz of that the next match was declared as unofficial.

Yeah fair enough, umpires have been accused of being swayed by a bowler's appeal (particularly Warnie) however ridiculous the appeal actually is.

I'm not claiming that the ICC or umpiring is biased towards any one or more teams. I'm simply stating the rules which dictate that a bowler may appeal as many times as he likes on one particular ball (from delivery to the start of the next runnup).

What were the circumstances of Sehwag's appeal?

I agree.I don't know why Sreesanth wasn't there in the team today and i think Pathan is better than Sehwag both as a batsman and bowler.

Such an irresponsible batting display by Indians once again. Surely Sehwag needs to be dropped now and should be allowed to work on his technique for some time. He is constantly getting bowled by fast bowlers in the same fashion again and again because of his poor footwork. He needs to work on that.

The way cricinfo explained it, Sehwag's dismissal was very similar to many of his dismissals by Pakistani pacers in the past year or so. This is definitely something he needs to work on.
