Thank you all for your honest feedback. Firstly, we do feel that we owe you all an apology, informing you two days before the scheduled release that the game is being delayed was an error on our part. Once we accepted that the game was not going to hit its submission dates, we were contractually obliged to gain approval from our partners before communicating a shift in release date. For the reasons outlined below, this has all happened very late in the end-phase of the development cycle. That said, we should have been more transparent and honest with our community and for this we sincerely apologise.

We would like to reiterate that this has only been pushed back as we are 100% committed to delivering the best possible cricket game, pushing the boundaries of what has been done in previous titles. This has always been our focus.

In an effort to make a truly authentic cricket title and one which stood up to the benchmarks of current sports games, 505 Games and Trickstar Games decided to rebuild the technology behind Ashes Cricket 2013 from scratch. To ensure we delivered something that met our own expectations, we had to focus all resource on game development. As a result, creating assets such as screenshots or videos had to be put on hold so the team could completely focus on the development of the game. We understand that this hasn't been popular with the community to date.

However, it is neither in the nature of Trickstar Games nor 505 Games of finding excuses, but rather solutions. And while we continue to pursue our goal, we want to work with our communities to help you understand our issues and be more transparent in the problems we have experienced.

We understand that many of you feel there has not been enough communication. In an effort to rectify this we are to going open up a direct line of communication between you, the real cricket fans, and the Trickstar development team. What we would like to do is ask you to send us your questions as a post below. The top 10 most frequently asked questions will then be answered in video form from Mike Fegan who heads up Trickstar Games. All other questions will be replied to in text as soon as humanly possible.
Every week, between now and release we will be posting a video answering the top 10 questions of that week and giving you an update on where we are in terms of physically releasing the game. As soon as we can be 100% sure when the game will be released we will tell you an exact date. We are also pointing some additional resource at asset development, such as screenshots and videos as we understand you all want to see where we are at and how the game is going to look. As a result, we will be releasing more assets very shortly.

Please post your questions below. We are committed to our community and to releasing a game that we are all proud of.

Too late for the apology though. The horse's bolted and I don't think I can ever take 505 Games or Mike Fegan's word at face value.

One interesting thing to note is that Chief/Jamie is nowhere in this communication channel/mechanism proposed by 505 Games. Looks like Chief will continue to work on his podcasts, if he's still with 505 Games that is.

As your avatar says, seeing is believing, talk is cheap

I'd give tickstar and 505 games a thumbsup here. It takes guts to come out with a official apology and to be honest if they are going to correct the flaws in the game then give them a chance. It's not like it is raining cricket games every year and you are spoilt for choice. Just think, if we did not have Big ant developing a cricket game our only hope was this game. Let's wait for the game and feel good that 505 and trickstar are working on giving us a good product. I for one will wait and even if it is half good, will buy it looking at the commitment of developers.

Now that's matter of months....

We should give them a chance, that's what I believe. They took interest in a sport which might not be as popular as football or any other sport. It takes guts to work on a cricket game even after knowing profit won't be high.

LOL, did they seriously think they will get away with an apology after all we fans have gone through.

Yeah but you still lied to us, kept taking our pre-order money, bragged about your false claims, held a press conference and lied straight to our face even though you knew it all along. That doesn't justify to come with an apology 3 days later from your 'supposed' release date.

As a result, creating assets such as screenshots or videos had to be put on hold so the team could completely focus on the development of the game.
Yet they couldn't hit a release date. Ha, what a farce excuse!

However, it is neither in the nature of Trickstar Games nor 505 Games of finding excuses, but rather solutions. And while we continue to pursue our goal, we want to work with our communities to help you understand our issues and be more transparent in the problems we have experienced.
Oh the irony!

Would have been much easier if you answered our questions before but you guys were busy in hiding under rock closer to release (and even now)

Oh no, not those 'Weekly' Podcasts again!

As soon as we can be 100% sure when the game will be released we will tell you an exact date.
Wow, at least they had the guts to finally tell some truth :facepalm

:facepalm
How is July even remotely possible then? God help these guys!

we had to focus all resource on game development. As a result, creating assets such as screenshots or videos had to be put on hold so the team could completely focus on the development of the game.

Read the entire paragraph. Actually they are describing the reason behind the lack of screenshots/Visuals. Not rebuilding the technology again.

Takes a pair to humble up like that... Credit where it's due. Be nice if they were totally upfront with the realities of making the announced July-but-more-likely-August window as well. Still, that's a fairly humble mea culpa so that gets my thumbs up at least. Proof they're listening to the feedback they're getting. Not out of the woods by any shape but let's see what happens next...

Now go back and read the line I quoted. It is as simple as it can be, "rebuild" the technology!

You don't release screenies/vids to focus on development, still miss the date by a huge margin, then you talk of rebuilding the technology and providing screens/vids very shortly, back to the weekly podcasts. Common 505, we are no fools. An apology fine, but that doesn't justify your deeds.
And i'm still stuck on "rebuild" the technology, simply disastrous!:facepalm
