Open Beta Testing - [PCCS 0.1.5]

I don't know whether you know this or not Sohum but after leg byes the batsmen do not change ends when there is a 1 or a 3 scored.

Here is my DB. If people want a DB with Ireland, NZ and Netherlands with 11 players then just download this.

I think you uploaded just the original PCCS.pccsdb :P

That's what I'm pushing for. Today American time, though, which will mean sometime in 8-10 hours. The following is what I have left on my plate:

- Code partnership storage (so that fall of wickets can be calculated for saved scorecards)
- Code save scorecard image from saved scorecards
- Insert some amount of data validation into the input forms so that things don't crash on bad user input
- Improve the logging so that crashes can be debugged

Well I took it out of the program files folder from where I opened it. Do modified databases get sent somewhere else? Maybe the picture of a lock on the db icon when I load it has something to do with not being able to upload it?

Ah.... it's going to be in this folder:

C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files...etc

In the next release, the PCCSDB files aren't going to be part of the install package anymore. Instead, I will have a clean PCCSDB file available on the first post of the thread. This way, users will be encouraged to put their PCCSDB files in their My Documents folder, instead of being near the executable.

Targeting for later today.

Nice to hear... Update release today

treva, I think I figured out what the bug is with your scorecard only saving once. When you attempt to save the scorecard, do you look at both tabs before trying to save it? Because I just tried saving a scorecard right after it has simmed without looking at both tabs, and it does crash on me.

Let me know if that works. I'll look for a fix so that you don't have to do that!

PCCS 0.1.3 has been released. Please check the first post for download links and upgrade instructions.

As a general rule, you should back up your PCCSDB files before installing a new version. If you are using Windows 7/Vista, the PCCSDB files will probably be in the following location:

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files...

Copy those files and back them up somewhere. Make a second backup because PCCS 0.1.3 changes the file format and although I have coded in algorithms to update the files without destroying them, I haven't test them out to much. The last thing you want is your hard-worked PCCSDB being eaten up by the program and rendered useless, right?

Apart from that, enjoy!

Someone posted the following bug:

"When I put in Bangalore Royal Challengers as a scorecard name, it goes onto a second line that you can't see, when you click save, the sim crashes."

First of all, the whole point of having a scorecard name is so that you can put a shorter name that'll fit on the scorecard. In this case, I'd choose something like "Challengers" or "BRC" as the scorecard name.

This is brilliant sohum, cant wait for more updates and till now everything working fine for me.
