In today's newspaper(The Hindu) there is an article "Ganguly ban a blessing in disguise"

I to feel the same.I don't wan't him to return to the team for sometime.Let Dravid captain.Who knows,a change might benefit the team.

Sai u've been hoping that he would perform.But he didn't for the past 4 matches.I'm sure he wouldn't for the rest of the matches.

Unless a miracle happens.

Thank Chris Broad for this decision, as I have said. They have just taken choice out of the equation. The Indian selectors were reluctant to drop Ganguly because they were unaware of the effect that would have on the team performance. Now they DON'T have a choice. They win both ways--they don't have to pierce Ganguly's ego and they don't have to stick with a bad batsman. If it works--there's only one way for Ganguly to go. If it doesn't--well it's only a 6 match ban.

Ganguly will not play in the 5th ODI after all. The BCCI said that Dravid will be the captain for 5th ODI and since the team was already prepapring for the match without ganguly, they should remain focussed about. BCCI conveyed this to Ganguly and he has appreciated BCCI's decision.

Just imagine this, you are in highschool or university and trying your exam/test. You fail, and people criticize you. Now you fail again, and again. Criticizing may not help you at all. What you need is a tap on your back and saying "don't worry child, we know how good you are, you can do it" Now thats what is a confidence booster. Ganguly has failed for the last year or so, agreed! but he is not in the worst touch of all. He captaincy needs no praises, his batting needs no comments. Just leave him alone, give him time to get back to basics and he will come out with a bang.

That's brilliant bumpkin but, that's the difference between captain not performing and a child failing in exams.

because ganguly is not performing thats why so one player is playing for free they should get another player and rid of ganguly also they should make dravid captain thats what i mean preey

V Sehwag, S Tendulkar, MS Dhoni+, R Dravid*, Y Singh, M Kaif, D Mongia, A Agarkar, L Balaji, Z Khan, M Kartik

I have not included Nehra, Kumble and Sriram. Mongia is in instead of Sriram simply because he is left-handed. Kartik, I believe, may be more effective than Kumble (who I do not think is a very good ODI bowler, of late). And Nehra has picked up wickets but has bowled despondently, for the most part.

Kanpur groundsman has claimed 270 will be difficult on this pitch. Hopefully that is true and we will instead see some close and moderate-scoring games. 300+ is all beautiful and great, but 4 games in a row is a bit much.

If Kumble is brought in and kept in the reserves, why should you even try to bring him? Instead bring in Bahutule or Sarandeep Singh and keep them in the reserves. I feel such a treatment should not be meted out to one of India's best spin bowler!

Kumble should play the next match if you ask me! Balaji or Nehra - they dont matter coz both are going for runs now. I want Agarkar to have a game here. We should try him out too!

Kumble must play.
sohummisra in ur squard u've picked 3 fast bowlers.Dravid always prefers 2 spiners & 2 fast bowlers.That's one of the difference between Dravid's & Ganguly's captaincy.

We must see whether he continues 3-2 bowling attack or changes to 2-2 bowling atack.
I'd like to see Kumble & Kartik as the spiners and Zaheer & Nehra as the fast bowlers.
Dinesh Mongia must be given a chance.

Kumble must play if he is in the squad. But that would mean that Kartik who did a good job last match would need to be dropped. He took 2/54 in a match where opposition scored 300+. But tough decisions have to be taken. India will have net practice before the game and seriously coach Wright and Dravid should see who bowls better in the nets and maybe take this into consideration when they make a decision. Agreed that Kumble would be an ideal choice given his experience but if Kartik is in the zone then why unnecessarily drop him too? I do not know if Dravid would want two spinners in the squad? Playing 2 spinners would also be good option. But ultimately its the pitch that will matter.

I think India should take the gamble and play two spinners as most likely the Kanpur pitch will be more or less the same as the pitches in last 4 ODI's. Hopefully either Sriram or Mongia (whoever replaces Ganguly) will strengthen the batting for India. I also feel that Kaif should come to bat at no. 3 if the first wicket falls after 15 overs. Hope Sehwag clicks and the "Sehwag Effect" wins the match for India. Come on INDIA!!
