india is a better team in paper, and you can say it is as good as Australia may be a bit better. But when it comes to performance, professionalism, attitude and hunger for win, its very far from the Aussies.

That is what pakistan demonstrated in this tour, they played well to their capabilities and with some sportiveness.

Well sohimmisra i dont agree with the fact that Pakistan being a better ODI unit then India considering that India has star studded batting lineup, probably the best opening pair, one of the most aggresive captian, Kaif and yuvraj has set new standards in the field for India & abt 90% of the team can bowl; wht else they want more. Pakistani players on the otherhand may not have same statistics in batting(except inzi), bowling & fielding but their self believe & playing together as a team has certainly done the trick.
The fact of this young pakistani lineup being called a vry good ODI side was all started from VB series where they won 1 match against australia & thretened them in finals.
Whtever the case is Pakistan did wht was unexpected of them. They certainly r the most unpredictable team in world but signs of consistency could now be seen.
As I said in my previous post wht ever the outcome of final odi is but for Pakistan:
Pakistan still aren't consistent. They did lose the first 2 matches didn't they? And Pakistan has always been a strong ODI unit because they have a bunch of all-rounders. All-rounders are the guys who win ODI matches. Pakistan have Razzaq and Afridi who are arguably two of the most devastating batsmen in ODI cricket. In fact, this Pakistan team is very strong on paper, too. The only thing they lack is a solid bowling department.

The non-availability of Shoaib Akhtar was probably a boon for Pakistan because it allowed them to develop a dedicated and committed unit. The raw talent is not there but the performance and committment levels are exceedingly high. Pakistan have exceeded all expectations at the test level, but I think they were expected to take the ODI series before it began. If you go to the initial pages of this thread you will see a lot of people (Indians, too) predicting a test-series to India and an ODI series to Pakistan.

Having said that, Pakistan faced two blips when they dropped the first two ODI games. They showed their ascendancy in ODI cricket in the last three matches, where they have completely blown India apart. Although I hope for an Indian comeback at Delhi, I believe Pakistan have the talent and momentum to beat the Indian unit.

Personally speaking India's batting is over hyped, they are nowhere near Australia's level of utter dominance with the bat which they have, and are nearly on the same level as Pakistan which is young, erratic and inexperienced. If I was an Indian fan I should be worried. Maybe its a reaction to just 3 wins by Pakistan but I believe India seriously needs to work on their strategies and utilise their bowlers to the maximum which currently they are not doing. Their batting although full of experienced veterans with high averages are not performing on the level they should be which they achieve in most tests. Whether thats do with Pakistan's guile in one day matches or just slack batting remains to be seen.

They r not consistent I agree on that but signs of consistency could be seen.
In Last 10 ODI's against india. Pakistan won 7 whereas India only won 3.

LOL.........

Pakistan is certainly the most talented team!!!

Its pointless to argue who is consistent and who is not.

All the teams except Australia (in consistently winning), Zimbabwe, Kenya, Bangladesh and ICC Associate Nations (in consistently losing) are inconsistent.

Its just the matter of which team plays better on the given day and whether the toss has an effect on the match (due to pitch, weather conditions etc).

Something in our system needs to change for us to be a world beater!!! Cant point out what it is but something needs to change...

Just put 42 reps on India for the final match. Ideal setting for India to win. Musharraf and Manmohan in the stands. Friendship and "Sadbhavna" (Good Feelings) in the air. Indian fans going crazy due to Indian win. Rahul and Inzy embracing each other. India drawing the series 3-3.

Come on India!!

I wouldn't called Rao Ifthikar and Naved-ul-Hasan the most talented blokes. Naved-ul-Hasan puts in a lot of effort which makes up for his lack of talent. Rao Ifthikar hasn't really performed. Kaneria is talented but inconsistent. Who else? Sami, is also talented but inconsistent. Arshad Khan doesn't really look talented. Razzaq definitely isn't talented with the ball. So your current crop of bowlers, for the most part, are not talented but try hard and succeed. Unlike Shoaib, whose talented and just wastes it.

I have taken a gamble and put 100 reps on India to win this one!!! Hope my country's team dont disappoint me in the last game!!

Whoever wins, it has been an amazing series so far - true to the reputation of India-Pakistan encounters. The public have got their due so far!

I want to watch this ODI. Any idea where I can get it for a cheaper price??

Naved Ul Haasan is an amazing talent.. he sounds a bit under-rated and doesnt have much hype. But the important thing is this lad delivers.. And thats good news for Pakistan. I am really impressed with him

sohummisra i think u r forgetting that this bowling line is a second choice because of injuries to main striking bowlers. You can not call following bowlers as not talented whom u would soon see in action(in WI tour ofcoarse).

Shabir Ahmed
Shoaib Akhtar
Umar Gul
Danish Kaneria
Rana Naveed
Mohammad Sami
