Pakistan in South Africa

And that's that for Test cricket until the 17th of May.

:(.

Good win for South Africa in the end. Credit to Pakistan though for piling on huge amounts of pressure this morning, a bit more luck and they could of come close. I think thats the end of a pretty good summer for South Africa in test cricket but they need to improve their away form.

just like every other series the Pakistan openers have done nothing, they were there just for South Africa to get one a role after needing a few quick wickets. they were practicaly useless and they couldnt even contribute with the ball, perhaps it is time to bring back Salman Butt and give him a go. the middle order wa average at best, with key players throwing wickets avay at the most crucual time.

the bowling was the best thing for pakistan this series with Asif and Kaneria really bringing the fight to SAF, Shoaib and Gul could have probably made a diference but there is always some key player injured for Pakistan during a test series.
maybe the bowlers could have been better if their keeper did good on his part but Kamran was absolutely horrible. couldnt complete a stumping if his life was depending on it.

hopefully its gona be a entertaining ODI series, somthing to get pumped up for the world cup.

i just want to see if the left arm spinner Rehman can do as good a job in SAF as he did in Pakistan in ODIs.

its between pakistan and south africa for number 2 side in the world honestly though
this is what a test series should be.
but if pakistan had just 1 more decent bowler then they could have run SA very close in this series

wonder how rana would have bowled on this pitch instead of nazir or sami.
cos rana is the kallis sort of bowler

South Africa and Pakistan fighting for 2nd best? Pakistan without doubt but South Africa are sixth in the rankings and 16 points behind second place.

yes indeed...he should be given a rest in 20-20s...he might get injured and we certainly can't take that risk...

This SA win puts Pakistan just a point away from India in the Test Table.
What was quite notable was that SA were stretched in 2 test series at home by 2 subcontinental sides.
It shows that the Asian sides have started to fare better overseas.

I do not agree with those who say that Pakistan did better than India in the test series.
You must remember that it was just one day of bad cricket in the third test (Day 4) where India lost the series .
We even had a first innings lead.

Pakistan bowling lacked the wicket-taking ability except for Asif.
The Indians did better in that aspect with Zaheer doing superbly in the whole tour and Sreesanth with those wickets in the tests.

How can it be only between Pakistan and South Africa for number 2 in the world when England are already number 2

oh please
rankings dont tell the full story
right now england arent even in the top 5 in the world,
on current form south africa/pakistan are number 2 sides for sure.

both sides when at full strength would give each other a very stern test and would beat any other team in the world bar the aussies comprehensively.
fact that south africa were and pakistan wasnt at full strength on this tour you could say pakistan were number 2 but we couldnt see that so we cant say for sure.

they may be very low in the rankings but thats due to the beatings they got from australia last year
