lol its a long story because our phone bill was ?300+ so there were these random numbers that we dont use and they thought i was using the phone to call someone i dont even use to phone and then on Monday they found out it was some Pakistani calling card number which costs money and he took my wireless on Sunday coz he thought i was calling people and i shudnt have the net in my room whihc doesnt make sense..so i stole it back
As we promised our SkySports team and others involved have been watching the prepartions of the two teams going into this 1st Test which is always crucial to get the mental advantage for the rest of the series. David Lloyde will take you through the rest of the coverage!!!
Bumble:Well as we know Pakistan will be very very confident going into this first test match against a somewhat mentally weak New Zealand side but dont get me wrong both teams have been working hard especially the Kiwis who have been in some serious net setions due to their poor performance in the ODIs they'll need to improve quick if they want to get off to a good start heres some fotage of them working hard in the nets...
Bumble:Pakistan on the other hand have been working hard but not as much on the primary things such as batting and bowling I think they feel they are pretty strong in them two departments and so they should do after their performance in the ODI Series. But they have been working on fielding very hard because it was totaly poor in the nearly all the matches just simple things like slip catches and pick up and throws is their main priority at the moment we'll see who is best prepared when the match starts in a while?
Well as we know there was one more tour match to get Pakistan up to scratch in this 4 Day encounter it was not broadcasted on tele but we will still bring you regular updates of scores and stats and how key players perform Ramiz Raja will take you through the rest of the update!!!
Ramiz Raja:Well Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat in this warm up match despite some gloomy overhead conditions Inzi thought the pitch was good to get some runs on which would definatly trouble New Zealand later on in the tour if they can get solid runs on the board. They have also made some changes for the better maybe as Mohsin Malik comes in instead of Younis Khan who was struck pretty badly in the last ODI and needs some rest and treatment. But the main focus has been Malik who has scored amazingly fast and is on 71* he has really impressed and could possibly get a further go ahead in this tour. Some of the weaker points i would say is the lack of time Shoaib Malik and Slaman Butt have spent on the crease together they need to build a really solid partnership which they havnt done yet both of them were sent packing pretty early on they need to sort it out maybe work on a single bowler and pick off the runs but Pakistan in a fairly good position in this tour match, just need to keep wickets in hand as we know..back to you for now stay tuned!!!
Well were back again to give you another update on Pakistans last warm up match befor the real tests once again to take you through the rest of the update and match will be Ramiz Raja with some expert analysis of the outcome so far...
Ramiz Raja:Well Pakistan have progresed pretty well since our last update I personally think tey have lost way too many wickets and one key wicket of Inzamam who went for 48, this could be the start of some poor form who knows? besides that well Mohammed Yousuf has been exceptional once again standing currently on 85* with the support of Shahid Afridi who looks like a new player he hasnt been as agressive hes just been really watchful and is aware that Yousuf is there to get key runs so he should play a sort of supportive role which i was very proud to see from Afridi hes really analysed the situation well and know he doesnt need to be sloging all over the park. One more other thing which could be a positive and a big positive for Pakistan is that they have looke fairly comfortable with them Medium paced bowlers such as MacMillan,Astle etc as we know in the previous ODI series they were really really troubleing them the batsman couldnt get a run of them but today they have had a few close shaves edges LBW appeals but have also got the runs off them with risky shots like cover drive which just didnt work for them i the previous match, so this is a big big pointer for Pakistan and could be useful in the Test Series...Thats it for now!!!
Well its time for yet another update of this 4 Day match Ramiz will take you throught the final update of the day stay tuned...
Ramiz Raja:Well once again were here at the ground and its been Pakistan all the way really some really top class performances were shown today not just by Mohammed Yousuf who is on another 100+ but also by some of the players who we thought nearly finished like Afridi making such a patiant 71 bit unlucky to be given out 20 mins befor the end of play but thats how it goes inthis game and Yousuf has been outstanding none the less maybe Pakistan should declare tommorow and see how it goes in the field? Canterbury were also pretty smart Bond was not brought on to bowl for some time until half and hour befor end of play which was a smart idea and Astle hasnt even bowled yet maybe they are givng these bowlers and allrounders a bit of a rest which is a smart choice but at the same time they need there match fitness to. We'll see you tommorow saty tuned!!!
Canterbury V Pakistan, Day 2 Pakistan End Of Innings!!!
Well once again we have an update for you, finally Pakistan are all out and will be in the field in a few mins Ramiz will talk you throught how the Innings ended for Pakistan!!!
Ramiz Raja:Well the Pakistani Innings has finally ended good to as they need to get a good day in the field to put pressure on and maybe put on around 250-300 runs up next Innings. This morning the Pakistani's looked unsettled this could turn out to be a serious issue performing well one day and next not looking to sharp Yousuf looked okay and the tail well we didnt expect much from them maybe Akmal and Razzaq could have put on more of a fight especially Akmal whos poor form is still there, Sami supprisingly hit a huge six and could be a useful tailender. Will update at Lunch!!!
Pakistan have won this warm up match very very impressivly in Canterburys 1st Innings they were bowled out for 54 edges flying everywhere and Asif taking 7 wickets then the Follow-On was used and they wre once again bowled out for 50 this bowling was great there were edges going everywhere a few balls that nipped in and bowled the batsman out and some LBWs but New Zealand will have to be aware as this first test starts soon stay tuned!!!
Hello once again as promised we bring you full coverage of the first test between Pakistan and New Zealand which has just begun. Also when we say full coverage it includes the new hight tecnology we have here at SkySports also with the experties of our Sky commentory team and 3rd man Michael Holding today and commentators for the session will be David Lloyde and David Gower!!!
David Lloyde:Well this match has finally got under way with the toss just taking place and Inzi winning it and electing to bowl first which i think is a great choice as there are some over head conditions and overcast for the pacers to take some quick wickets if they can make good use of the pitch and conditions?
David Gower:Well yes your right David these two openers will need to be very careful with these overcast conditions. There have been a few modifications in the Pakistani line-up with Razzaq going out and M.Malik coming in probaly because of his great batting at the warm up match? Well lets see how the day goes on!!!
New Zealand have definatly paid the price of not being able to bowl first because they have lost an early wicket which could dent their confidence lets see what the commentators have to say?
Bumble:Well it was coming the New Zealand batsman never looked confortable with the conditions and with Mohammed Asif, once again the main man for Pakistan so far, simple textbook dissmisal bowl outside the offstump batsman pokes at it gets a nick keeper gloves and your out!!!
David Gower:Yes your absaloutly right there the batsman didnt look to attack and maybe lost his patiance or somthing and decided to get some runs which arent coming easy and ended up back in the pavillion. The runs seemed to have dried up really slow scoring rate which can be understood because of over head conditions but New Zealand really need to get a move on or theyll suffer!!!
The Pakistani paceman Mohammed Asif has got yet another breakthrough this tim eof the skipper of New Zealand and in a some what contrversial way as it was a LBW more from the experts...
David Gower: Once more the New Zealand batsman are tricked by a great swinging delivery which only a Pakistani bowler can produce it was almost like a reverse swinger which trapped Flemming in the straight drive he had no time to move the leg back, this has put the Kiwis in some spot of trouble!!!
Bumble:Yes it was a very contrvesial dissmisal as the LBW always is this one on the other hand was very shocking or was it, it was extremly hard ot judge but it hink the umpire piced the ball as a reverse swinger which to the left hander would swing in and then out this is what probably done the job and it maybe would have cliped the leg stump but i think that decisions like this hould definatly go in the benifit of the doubt towards the batsman Hawk-Eye suggests that it would have cliped leg but as i said in a situation like this i would have given it not out!!!
