Pakistan A vs India - LIVE from Faislabad

Harsha: Hello and welcome to this packed and crowded stadium of Faislabad for the first match of India's tour of Pakistan against Pakistan A. With me here is Ravi Shastri & Geoff Boycott so lets have a quick conversation about the two teams. Ravi, what do you think, who has more chances, Ind or Pak A?

Ravi: Well Harsha, from my views, Pak A is a junior team but it has many talents. As we saw last year how Pak A defeated India even India scored above 300. So, nothing can be said in cricket and moreover in an India- Pak match. Both teams are looking good and whoever will play well will win the match.

Harsha: And Geoff., what do u say ?
Geoff.: Well I think India's chances are more but as Ravi said, nothing can be said in India Pak match. So... lets see, I cant say anything.

Harsha:What is that main area where Indians have to work hard to fill that gap?

Ravi: Well I think Indias fielding has improved a lot with the arrival of Yuvraj & Kaif. Indian team is worldwide known for its strong batting, but as we are watching that India's batting is not satisfactory from last 5 - 6 months that we saw in videocon cup and champions trophy. So I think India should lay emphasis on its batting and for that they shud save their wickets and keep their eyes on the ball. They should get themselves setteled before they srart playing extravagant and big shots.

Harsha: And what about Pak A, Geoff ?
Geoff : I think Pakistan A need to improve a little on their fielding and for that they have keep themselves fit because fielding is all about fitness.

Harsha: Sehwag, one of the most dangerous batsman in Indian team, seems a little disturbed from last couple of months. Can he get back his form in this tour?

Ravi: Harsha, Sehwag as we all know is a dangerous and a class batsman. You never know when he can change the path of any match. May he should get back his form in this match only, because he is a class batsman and as we all know that form is temporary, but class is permanent

Geoff: Ya I also agree with Ravi.

Harsha: Ok, form is temporary but class is permanent, thanks Ravi & Geoff. And now its time for the start of the match. But before that, Pitch report coming after this break, so stay tuned.

Pitch report

Tony: Hello and welcome to this wonderful stadium in Faislabad. The atmosphere here is supervb and perfect for cricket. The pitch has something for both batsmen & bowlers. Its hard but there is some dust over. But if you ask me, I will prefer batting first on this pitch because pitch will start breaking up early. So whoever wins the toss, shud bat first.

India won the toss- elected to bat first

Well the good news for the Indian fans is that India has won the toss and elected to bat first. A pretty good decision by Ganguly

And here are the lineups of both teams. Good to see Zaheer Khan back in the Indian team.

Score update

India lost the way.....5/3 after 3 overs

Geoff: Well Ravi, what do u say now. The match in the meantime is totally under Pak A's control.

Ravi: Ya Geoff, Pakistan A are playing really sensible. The bowlers have done a good job by getting rid of Sehwag and Tendulkar early. But lets do not leave hope because its cricket. India now neeeds to save wickets now because if another wicket fall early now, then India will be in big trouble.

Geoff: Sehwag seemed a little distractive in running between the wickets I think.

Ravi: Yeah Geoff what you are thinking is 100% right. Sehwag was surely distracted between wickets and as a result, he is in the pavilion on the score of 2 only.

Geoff: And what do u think about the Indian skipper? He is still on the crease.

Ravi: I think Ganguly has to play sensibly as a captain because if look on Indian lineup, there are only Kaif and Yuvraj as a batsman after him. So he need to save his wicket so that Yuvraj and Kaif can play aggresively later in the match.

Ravi:The Indian batsmen tried their best but were looking little disturbed. The concentration of the Indians except 2-3 players was almost negligble. Sehwag once again failed to make a good score and was run out on 2. The skipper Ganguly lifted the team a bit by hitting awesome 90 runs but failed to hit century and became the prey of nervous 90's. Tendulkar also once again failed and made only 1. Yuvraj contributed by hitting terrafic 69 runs but cricket is a team game. The run rate was rediculous, almost 4 an over. Wickets continued to fall. As a result India surrendered on 215/7 after 50 overs.

Still to come on ESPN STAR SPORTS Pakistan A's reply of chasing 216 after this break. So stay with us.
