I have a feeling that in and after Champions Trophy. Shoaib Malik and Kamran Akmal will fail to retain spot in the squad.

I would assume the age factor with him. It's not like he is a long term prospect, I don't see him playing cricket for more than 2years, it would be a waste if they gave him a spot instead of a younger player.[DOUBLEPOST=1489595942][/DOUBLEPOST]The best thing to come out of the ODI side, is dropping Azhar. I hope Pakistan can start making quick starts now.[DOUBLEPOST=1489596028][/DOUBLEPOST]The best thing to come out of the ODI side, is dropping Azhar. I hope Pakistan can start making quick starts now.
Then what's the reason of selecting Hafeez, Kamran and Asif Zakir?

Then what's the reason of selecting Hafeez, Kamran and Asif Zakir?

Hafeez I assume would become the 5th/6th bowler allowing for an extra batsmen and dealing with the current issue we have with the 5th Bowler. Plus he has a lot of international experience which works for him.

Kamran Akmal has been exceptional over the last year or so in domestic cricket, in First Class, OD and T20. There was no way the selection committee could reject him

Asif Zakir, I know nothing about, but I assume they wanted an experienced batsmen after dropping Azhar Ali, hence they selected him. I doubt he will play more than a couple of series unless he scores a massive hundred.

There are two people we are not getting rid from, Hafeez and Malik. Please don't tell me the averages of Malik and his performance. He has been nothing but a mere contributor performing in very few matches. We should remember that Malik wasn't a specialist batsman, He basically is a bowler. Anyway.... Same story goes with Hafeez. Windies shuffle badly against spinners and its likely that Hafeez will get some wickets there. I can understand the inclusion of Malik as we might be needed him at this stage considering the experience and utility he provides but Hafeez... Come On Man, His selection is just FORCED

I haven't seen Asif Zakir as well, Wonder how a debutant can replace an experienced batsman like Azhar Ali.

PS: Dropping Azhar Ali after taking captaincy from him is a huge slap on the system PCB people have generated as well as a point to think about Waqar Younis again who supported Azhar Ali for ODI captain. The one who didn't deserve a place in the squad named the captain and now he isnt in the team. This trend hasn't been new with Pakistan and PCB hasn't learnt a single thing from past.

Azher not doing good in ODI so I think INZI did good by removing him , anyway he was suspended for March 26 by ICC.he will return in test team for 3 test vs WI.

I am impressed with bold move by INZI with 5 new player including Shadab khan.great player like Chandimal was told to go back to club cricket up on poor batting in test matches, yesterday he hits 138, you must needs to tunes up with change and chop which help team.

Asian sub continent's domestic regulation : you must selects if they performs great but yes few of them need support from certain someone, someone from Pakistan hits 168 on début still not playing for Pakistan in test matches despite great seasons in domestic.

Watching game on hai. Now these guys are saying Umar Akmal should have been picked! Oh Pakistan! :facepalm

Same happened with Cook. Just like Azhar, he was a burden on the team and got dropped. And Azhar resigned himself, PCB didn't do anything.

Who exactly is saying it? The host?

I totally disagree with you here. Cook's case can not be compared with Azhar Ali at all. Rather, Cook's case is similar to Misbah. Cook has served long and great for their test team and now he was at the twilight of his captaincy and career similar to Misbah-Ul-Haq. Azhar was never the choice for One Day Matches even while making him captain was completely out of the scene but Knowing PCB and their history It wasn't a surprise for us Pakistanis. Such examples are plenty in Pakistan Cricket that a player not in the team becomes a captain.

I think you are sensible enough to know that why Azhar resigned himself, When your chairman giving statements every other day that Azhar is this and that he wont be captain after this series, Sarfraz should be captain, we need a new ODI captain and blah blah etc etc.... then what do you expect from Azhar? Azhar had no choice. No wonder he was never the choice for captaincy after World Cup but he wasn't that bad with his bat that you also drop him from the Line-up

He wasn't that bad when you look at the average, but he was bad when you look at the strike rate.

In my view, He had to be in the squad anyway for this tour and could be tried at No. 3 Position. I don't know what is the plan for the new combination but I don't think so He deserved an all around squad exclusion. If we really talking about strike rate, Then we already know that Inzy gave a lolly pop to select him in England? Where teams would be brutal to score 400 each match, Where would be strike rate thing in that case? Inzy expecting a collapse in England pitches where Azhar can give team a dependence? If that is the case then first build his ODI confidence by inducting him Windies tour rather than bringing him to England ODI matches straight away

It's called being diplomatic. He didn't say "We won't select him", because he didn't want to disrespect him, and he's not as stupid as the chairman. I will bet everything i have that he won't be in the squad for the Champions Trophy
