I agree completely with the Waqar Younis sentiment, although "moron" might be a bit too harsh. That was a really questionable decision at best. I'm truly tired of all the musical chairs with the same people in Pakistan cricket. Waqar Younis wasn't only a bad coach, he also didn't help chemistry at all. This is also a bit unfair to Misbah. Why would they have a senior player (and I think he was Misbah's coach as well), hovering around him. They should have given him space to make his own decisions.
And although I'm happy with Misbah's appointment, his tenure as captain didn't inspire confidence as far as merit based selection is concerned. He also either flat out refused or neglected to groom a future captain during his tenure. I've always thought Ganguly was the most important person in Indian cricket because of the way he was able to change the culture of Indian cricket and look ahead years after he knew he would be retired. Pakistan have never had that luxury with their captains, outside of Imran Khan. Hopefully, Misbah will have more foresight as a coach and selector.[DOUBLEPOST=1567815659][/DOUBLEPOST]
This point is bang on the money. Especially considering the absurdity of sports media in Pakistan.
