Pakistan's new board has the chance to show that they have truly turned a new page by hiring Mike Hesson. Misbah would be the worst choice they could make. He doesn't even have the qualifications required, so i hope it's just a typical media rumour. He shouldn't be chief selector either for the same reason.
He has no coaching experience. And recently there was rumours that PCB is thinking of giving him the dual role of Coach and Selector. :facepalm

God, I hope so too. Mike Hesson is a proper coach, he's way more experienced. The only reason Misbah-Ul-Haq can be selected as the coach and chief selector is that, he does seem like the 'Ji sir' kinda guy that wouldn't dare say anything that conflicts with the higher management. I hope I'm wrong.

That could be a blunder. Coach should do a coaching job and leave the selection decision to the selectors.[DOUBLEPOST=1566044017][/DOUBLEPOST]

I think he has very good knowledge regarding the game and is pro-active in the decision making. He can prove to be a good coach.

I agree, but he doesn't have the coaching qualifications yet.
The problem with our local coaches is, there aren't many who understand the needs of modern day ODI cricket, or the type of players we need to win Tests outside Asia.

And that is where Misbah is ahead of others.
Again, my point is, i don't think he has completed the required coaching courses yet. And even if he had, his first job shouldn't be head coach of Pakistan. Maybe he could be batting coach.

Ditto. The entire mindset of our local coaches is so stagnant. It's kinda embarrassing.

Atleast not like the coach we have for our team :lol[DOUBLEPOST=1566044808][/DOUBLEPOST]

Agree to that as well. He should first be given opportunities in the PSL/ Domestic tournaments and then go ahead.

Moin Khan and Mohammad Akram have been bright in PSL, and Moin would have excellent chemistry with Sarfraz. Akram is rumoured to have been almost finalised as bowling coach.
Apart from them, Aqib Javed, and that's it.

Mohammad Akram, head coach of Peshawar Zalmi. Wasim is already part of Cricket Committee, which axed the previous coaches.
So's Misbah. It would be really shady for him or Akram to be a part of the committee which axed the former coaching staff, and then for either of them to take their place.

That's why i think it's just a media rumour, because he's been named as "camp commandant" for the fitness camp thjs month.
Example of Pakistani media rumours below (Domingo was named Bangladesh coach today)
