So, if Babar is forced to play at #5 tomorrow, and he obviously will not perform as well. Will that mean he's a poor player?

He batted at no.5 or no.6 on his ODI debut 2015 i think and he scored a 50.

His actual position is no.3 but since Rizwan has started performing well Rizwan has taken his place. So if Haider can perform at #3 only then there is no place for him in the team.

if Haider has 2 fifties while batting at #3 then he should bat at #3 only. Hafeez is going to retire soon so Haider might take Hafeez's place after that.

Thats why we lost many talented players for example Sami Aslam.

I agree, but to be fair, Sami was also a little too eager to get a chance. He would have gotten that in the South Africa series earlier this year, but he decided to move to the US.

I still think that if he comes back to Pakistan, he will be in the national side after a good half-season.

Azhar ali who is'nt performing well is in the team because of his 100 against England in 2020 and Abid Ali is in the team because of his centuries against 5 times world champions Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

I agree, but to be fair, Sami was also a little too eager to get a chance. He would have gotten that in the South Africa series earlier this year, but he decided to move to the US.

I still think that if he comes back to Pakistan, he will be in the national side after a good half-season.

He knew he is'nt going to get a chance anymore.

Azhar ali who is'nt performing well is in the team because of his 100 against England in 2020 and Abid Ali is in the team because of his centuries against 5 times world champions Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Agree about Abid Ali to some extent, but Azhar averages 45 since 2020. That hundred against England saved us from a defeat and his 90 odd against New Zealand was an outstanding inning.

Unfortunately, there are no good backups. Imran Butt has failed so far. Shan Masood needs to work more on his technique. Same for Imam. And Sami Aslam has left Pakistan.

There is always a player who saves us from a defeat for example Rizwan in 2nd test against England in 2020. in 3rd test Rain played a part too and English fielders dropped too many catches. He failed badly in south africa he scored 1 fifty in the series and then failed badly. To be honest he performs rarely he failed badly in New zealand series and played a 1 brilliant knock.
