Pakistani Tour of New Zealand, Dec-Feb 2010/11

Ryder has bucketloads of talent, you really need him.

As for 13 off 12...if you are defending that against a top level international batsman who bats well under pressure and a guy with multiple first class centuries to his name...you will lose 9 times out of 10.

Southee was not the hero today.

And definitely not the scapegoat. Or maybe he is...

You're being a bit harsh towards both teams. Pakistan are a good team, the best Pakistan team i've seen in a while and in familiar conditions, I would be surprised not to see them in the semis.

When they only have to beat Zimbabwe, then win one game, I would not be surprised to see them in the semis either.

Yeah, thats probably one of the downsides to the format, i actually liked the Super 8 stage. Even though it took too long, you clearly found who was the best team.

Southee really needed to make it 13 off 6 or get two wickets. If Sohail got out, Umar Gul would still be good enough. They weren't in a good position by that point. They had a chance when they got a couple of quick wickets, but then Abdul Razzaq made a few runs and Misbah was still going and that's how it creeps up on you.

Good win this but we need to be a lot more consistent if we are to have any chance against better teams. Beating this Kiwi outfit is no big deal but losing to them is.

Everyone rubbishing NZ -> we go in as underdogs -> we therefore will do well

:D

I'm quite happy I buggered off to the bar instead of watching this

Yeah I was going to mention that, after that Bangladesh tour we played some of the best test cricket we had for years. So I guess we can't count it out.

May Allah grant us (PAKISTAN) the win in the thursday game and make us win the series...

I don't think Allah has time for Pakistan. The players have to do it for themselves, and if they fail it is all their responsibility, not because Allah wanted them to loose. sheesh....

He has a point there.God don't help those who don't help themselves. You cannot win a match by doing nothing but just praying to Allah Almighty.HE won't help you win anything unless you really struggle to get it.

Hey Pal. Have you ever Heard the old adage, "God helps those who help themselves". I personally don't think Allah needs to be mentioned here. Cricket is a sport. Whoever so plays well will win. Religion or God has nothing to do with it. And please do not forget that our players cheated and a few cheaters are still playing for Pakistan. How can God be with a team with cheaters in it? Ever thought about it. I know you mean well but your posts are giving people opportunity to make fun of Pakistan. I hope you get my point.

You really don't like ryder do you...

I hate this rotation. Williamson and south should be playing at their home ground. Especially since the conditions are conducive to swing

It's just something about him, he hasn't really done anything, but he seems so easy to poke fun at. And he just seems to have that ability to kill our bowling attack effortlessly.

Just as I say that, Shehzad plays a wonderful straight drive down the ground for 4 runs
