Pakistani Tour of New Zealand, Dec-Feb 2010/11

I hate it when our batsmen get out to styris. Even my two and half years old son can wallop him around :facepalm

Umar Akmal is trying hard to ensure we do not get a respectable total here. Both Afridi and Razzaq wickets are his fault.

A lack of anything convincing in the middle order definitely hurt their score. They just petered out when they probably should have matched their 3rd ODI score. In a way even Ahmed Shehzad cost them. On paper, he played better than Mohammad Hafeez in the 3rd ODI, but Hafeez saw them get six overs further. Shehzad just didn't time his run well.

Historically, no target is safe at Seddon Park, but I'd sooner back Pakistan's bowling than New Zealand's batting.

Pakistan had a very good platform to launch off, really thought one of their 3 big guns would fire.

Gups just got lucky there, plumb LBW and the umpire didn't even consider it.

Jamie How

2 matches in 2009 - average 13.5, S/R 64
4 matches in 2010 - average 10.3, S/R 54
3 matches in 2011 - average 18.5, S/R 69

He's pretty much a Sinclair replica, bursting onto the international scene, but turning out to be a dud, and they're both from CD.

Hopefully this How bashing from me makes him score a 100 in his next bat. :)

And he fails again...

His uselessly slow innings could end up losing the match for us.

Both of the close LBWs wouldn't have been overturned if the DRS was in play...

The first one was umpires call in terms of impact, and the second one was umpires call in terms of hitting leg stump.

There was nothing wrong with both decisions, assuming the benefit of the doubt goes to the batsman.

I'm sorry How but 12 off 39 is just not good enough, and wtf why is he batting at 3??

I wouldn't be surprised if both Southee and Williamson were dropped. Both didn't do great in the last couple of games. But yeah if this is our best team they should both be there ahead of both How and Bennett.

I didn't see Ryders dismissal but was it Guptills fault?? Wonder whether he'll have a crack on twitter lol

----------

It's going to be a disaster in the WC if someone gets injured and How has to come in. We should just fake an injury for him so we can bring someone else in lol.

I'd say it was Guptill's fault - he started running before shouting wait, wait, no.

Southee wouldn't be dropped, he was the best bowler in the first ODI by far, and in the T20s too.

I think it was. Guptill ran a couple of steeps before calling, and Ryder was already too far down to get back. (My dad was blaming Ryder though, so it really just comes down to your opinion, which you won't have as you didn't see)

It was gay as I was out for the whole first innings, so the first ball I saw live was that run out.

Both of our "big" guys have now been run out. :facepalm

A lot of LBW decisions have gone against Pakistan. Taylor has got two lives I think. This may be the defining factor in this match.

I think the defining factor will be the terrible running by us. Hopefully Taylor and Franklin can launch from here - take the batting powerplay soon and carry the momentum into the last few overs

This rotation crap certainly isn't helping the running between the wickets.

Jeez, even without Ajmal, how many options do Pak have at the death? Gul, Riaz, Akhtar for pace + reverse-swing. If that doesn't work - try Razzaq's slower balls.

That's the big wicket that Pak needed. How the hell are the Kiwi's screwing this up? 265 is not a huge total.
