Pakistani Tour of New Zealand, Dec-Feb 2010/11

I've seen Afridi bowl his "quicker" ball in the 130's before so personally I'm not surprised, although with Kyle Mills chucking the odd ball down in the mid 130's you'd have to question the radar just a little bit. I doubt it'd be on the fritz by four plus kmph however.

----------

New Zealand has named there XI for the three day tour game against Pakistan starting on the weekend.

Daniel Vettori (captain), Tim McIntosh, Brendon McCullum, BJ Watling, Jesse Ryder, Kane Williamson, James Franklin, Reece Young, Brent Arnel, Trent Boult, Chris Martin.

:thumbs On Boult's selection, if he's fully fit he should be in the test team afaic.

It's nearly the whole test side lol But I can understand the whole team though for various reasons.

They're adding an extra person to the side later aren't they? Once they know who's playing in the HRV Cup final?

What nonsense, you may as well cancel the warm-up game and make it a 3 test match series if NZ are going to put that squad out.

They're just playing players who haven't played for a while or are out of form.

----------

And I would much prefer a 3 test series...

Indeed. That team probably needs a hit out just as much as Pakistan does however, except for a few 20/20's here and there none of them have played any proper cricket in over a month.

I just heard on the radio that Ryder's out of the test series. :facepalm
I didn't hear what the reason was, but Brownlie's been called up.

This could open up another chance for Franklin at six, as you'd think they'll push Williamson up to five.

Test series, I thought he was just pulled out of the tour game? Unless something has changed over the last 12 hours.

Yea I thought it was just the tour game and he was supposed to be fine for the test series?

Ryder is and explosive player in his day, so if he is out of the test series then it might be a big blow for kiwis.

It was just some random station my Nana had on, so I wouldn't be surprised if they said it wrong.

I can't find anything on the net about it, except him just missing the tour match, so in that case it shouldn't matter too much.

Can any of you local NZ guys point me to a radio link to listen to the first test match (the warm-up game) if it's being broadcasted.

Thanks

Thanks, seems as though New Zealand have won the toss and elected to bat.

The radio guy is still setting up at the ground or something like that.

How hard is it to plug in a couple of cables, and connect a microphone. :rolleyes

This is dumb. I'm calling this the first test match, and this is now a 3 test series as far as I'm concerned, because this is basically New Zealand vs Pakistan
