Patch#2 Notes - Patch is Live

I am at a liberty to say that a number of people at PC have been given the opportunity to play the PC beta version. This is unbelievable involvement by BA....a huge amount of work by them has gone into improving the game by working actively on the feedback given off the forums............the game is patched, looks absolutely freaking gorgeous on a computer with everything maxed out and the gameplay is tighter, more polished and very very enjoyable.

All the conspiracy theorists are just barking up the wrong Gordon Ramsey....

.......many many man hours will have gone into this.......they don't have to, they choose to and as far as the end user is concerned they are doing it for free......

yeah - i've also started heard a rumour that the patch has failed with microsoft because they are demanding kinect support.

Any idea when the unnamed late party is likely to get back to work okaying the patch? Is this a check back each Thursday kind of thing, or might they actually get in done before then.

Not that it really matters, after last time anyone using the Xbox version (like me, why oh why oh why... I should have got it on the good console) will remember how long it seemed to take them after it being okay to get it live.

I'm reading this thread purely for entertainment now. Same questions, same answers, same complaints, will it be out today, what about tomorrow... It's classic.

Personally I'm happy to take a few more 5-fors before AI batting gets smarter. Almost at 300k half way through Year 2. But I'll be sure to check back here for a laugh.

I'll know the patch is out the same way I know other patches are out. My PS3 will tell me and I'll install it.

Good question, but why don't you just get Patch 1 first? And why don't you have it already?!

You won't have to worry about anything. The game/ps3 will prompt you to install the patch or patches and you simply click 'ok' or 'yes' to install whatever it asks you to.

The patch will be out at some point. The game is still playable and enjoyable without it. So why don't certain people stop whinging and play the game or better still trade it in for mario kart as that seems to be your gaming level.

Why insult Mario Kart? It's a brilliant game series in general, selling something of the order of 100 million units over the various versions. Mario Kart 8 has been a huge hit so far as well, having sold 1.2 million units in the first four days, which to my knowledge makes it the fastest selling game of the current console generation.

To be honest as well, there are enough serious bugs to bother waiting for the patch. Test cricket is pretty much broken beyond enjoyment due to stamina issues alone. The lack of edges as well builds for a very poor feel over time, not to mention the host of other issues.

Having thought that the patch was coming about 9 days or so ago now, people are understandably frustrated, and people getting tetchy about people wanting a bit of information isn't helping the situation, just magnifying the angstiness of the forum. Whilst the issue here isn't Ross or Big Ant's fault, many (not all) are just asking about some information, and whilst people who engross themselves in this forum as a near full time job will of course know the ins and outs of a 50+ page thread, many won't have, and as such ask for some information. So as long as the OP doesn't have an updated FAQ and a title direction people there, you can hardly get on your high horse without being just as bad as them, if not worse with the level of aggression, pettiness and overall childishness brought to the forum.

Long story short, a moderation should step in and either split off a new thread with all the appropriate information in the title, or people should stop being so tetchy about answering the same questions. You may have read every post in the thread, hey, maybe even the forum, but that doesn't mean someone popping in for information would have.

I agree. I haven't played for weeks, waiting for the patch. Test cricket is okay batting because you don't notice the bowling stamina issue THAT much, and the wonky AI fields don't prevent enjoyment imo. Bowling ain't great though, because then you really do notice the stamina issue, lack of edges and also your wickets just come from AI stupidity.
