Eh? I thought these were just friendlies between NZ and WI?

Read the thread :p Look at first post, you agreed to a tri series between West Indies, Sri Lanka and New Zealand. We are in the second group of fixtures.

Whoops! I wouldn't have asked for a re-match if I knew that this was the tri-series. :p

Oh ok. So the first result stands :) Jesus, this is a mess. The best option would be to do one more with normal pitch, and declare the result of that the official one. Glad to see us getting so much practice anyway ;)

Ok, the final result (this is the one that will stand) has come in:

Where was the acceleration boys?! You had 7 wickets to spare at the end and not once did you push for a victory. Your red ink batting has made me re-think my team selection.

I'm quite pleased with the way fielding training for Colin has gone (i.e line up the rest of the team and try and hit his beer bottle from 45 yards). Not only has it improved his catching (through trying to save the bottle) but his throwing and runouts have improved (shame Chanderpaul had to spend a day in hospital with broken nose).

Hey, I did a fairly decent job opening the batting. My first century. And I still didn't get man of the match. :p. Lou Vincent should have got out so that our superstar slogger Woosah could have slogged us to victory!

What the game that actually counts i don't get double figures because of a run out that wasn't even out, I was in my crease ;)

Oh well good games.

i shall write an article soon :)

unlucky nz and trev, what about a match between us and england surendar. I read they are looknig for some warm up matches.

If they are ready, we are also ready to fire :D but after this three match Pak series!

Also, i am able to observe that Pakistan coach is inactive for long days.... i feel, any one of their players shd come forward as a coach and make their team active! :)

England thrash Zimbabwe

England have thrashed Zimbabwe by 247 runs in their warm up match in Lisbon. On an even wicket, captain Andrew Strauss won the toss and elected to bat first- with new players Mierosoft and DJ Ager starring by making centuries.

Andrew Strauss (30), Paul Collingwood (26) and Kevin Pietersen (44*) supported them as Mierosoft (113) and DJ Ager (109*) took control in Portugal.

When it came to bowling, James Anderson (4/19) and Andrew Flintoff (2/27) blasted through the Zimbabwean batting order with Paul Collingwood (1/32) and Jamie Dalrymple (1/6) mopping up.

Overall, it was a thoroughly convincing performance with Mierosoft emerging as man of the match.

"I am very pleased. This match came up very suddenly and we have shown a lot of professionalism against Zimababwe," said England coach Lee Payne.

With their debuts now over, England can look ahead to the PCC Champions Trophy with confidence.
