On Hold PCF1: 2000 --- On hold until I return from my travels

Currently, the FIA cannot award a Superlicence to Alonso because, although he proved himself quick at winter testing, he has not shown his ability to safely pilot a high-powered car for an entire race distance. The International F3000 series will be an opportunity for him to show this, and all being well he can be elevated to a race seat after the in-season test, if not sooner.
That's sad but I have to respect their decision. Drivers Lineup will stay same then for us. Do let me know when Alonso is eligible to drive for us.

Michael Schumacher wins first Grand Prix of the season

The two-time Formula One World Champion, Michael Schumacher won the first Grand Prix of the new millenium by thirty seconds in a commanding performance that also saw Johnny Herbert (for Williams) and Mika Hakkinen (for McLaren) on the podium. As is often the case at Melbourne, it was a real race of attrition with only half of the 22 drivers to start the race making it to the finish line. Among them were rookies Takuma Sato (5th, Jordan), Jenson Button (7th, McLaren) and Laurent Redon (11th, Jaguar).

However, none of the big-money loanees managed to complete the race distance: David Coulthard retired at the end of lap 23 after colliding with de la Rosa's Minardi, then Franck Montagny became the second retirement for Arrows, and finally Eddie Irvine failed to cleanly lap Prost's Olivier Panis and lost a wheel. Most worryingly from a financial point of view, Arrows and Prost both failed to get a car to complete the race distance.

Up-to-date standings for all who want them

I got excited when I saw both of Benetton cars at P9 and P10 and I thought we got 3 points but then I realized that points system was different during that time but its good that we finished the race without any issues.
@The Author Can you post details of Qualifying as well along with race? (just a suggestion)

Could've been better. Hopefully it won't be like this for the whole season.

Fantastic to see Michael win it for us and that by some margin however, I am a little disappointed to see Rubens finish at distant fourth. I had expected to him to be at least earn a podium finish because he is a very good racer with a magnificent car. The Williams team should be proud of Herbert who finished at second position while his partner crashed out of the race in the 45th lap.

I could, but it wouldn't make very much sense because of how limited the simulator is. It'd likely spit out grids with little to no resemblance to the race result, because implementing a starting grid makes literally no difference to the race result

Question: surely if Zanardi retired on the last lap he'd be classified 10th? He finished lap 57 before the two cars a lap down did (in order to get onto the last lap he had to), and therefore although he retired on the last lap he'd be classified in tenth, because he's ran more than the 90% of the race distance in order to be classified as a finisher, and because he completed 57 laps in a quicker time than Wurz and Redon?

It doesn't matter because it gives us no points, but it might affect things down the line if we get a load of lapped cars or more attrition.

Other than that, I'm pretty happy with that result, we got to the end which is the main thing that we need to do with the package that we have. I don't know where Zanardi was running before he retired (dunno if the sim can tell us that) but at the very worst he was still on the lead lap which shows that what we have is at least reliable. Lets hope we can find a little bit of pace before the end of the season - but even if we don't move forward relative to everyone else we still have a shot at some points

A top 5 finish from Sato gave us our first points. Pretty happy with that. Really unlucky with Coulthard retiring due to a collision.

We won't change anything.
