PCPL3, The Preview

Well, welcome to the preview of season 3 of the PCPL, this is the guide to the upcoming season. Brought to you by Manchester Divided All-Rounder Harrisb.

Firstly, let us begin by taking a look at last season?s champions, Toronto Tanks.

After winning the title last season, Toronto Tanks will be hoping for more success this season, and with the likes of Ian Botham and Imran Khan joining a squad with the abilities of the tanks, the likes of Insomniac, formerly Zmario, Holdenator and the bowling from Brendon Hedger, they have to be regarded as challengers for the title. Back to back titles may not be too far away for the tanks, the reigning champions are looking stronger than season 1 champions Manchester Divided did at the beginning of season 2. Can they defend their title, we'll have to wait and see.

Now, let?s move on to last season?s runners up, Chennai Champions.

So close yet so far last season, missing out on the title by 0.78 on the net run rate. They will be out for revenge.

Cricketman, the owner, has succeeded in winning 6 players in the auction, and out of those six, he has decided to sign Wilfred Rhodes and Abdul Qadir, along with Aravinda da Silva and Ranjitsinhji, all this for just 15.5mil. However, Chennai's final squad list for the upcoming season has not been confirmed as of yet. Graphically, they look ready, with numerous YouTube videos and a nice looking logo and kit, but whether their squad is ready, is another question. Depending on their final squad selections, we will see whether or not Chennai are about to mount a challenge equal to last seasons.

Next up, is Dublin Destroyers, who finished third in last season?s PCPL.

Well, will they be Third time Irish Lucky, or will it be another season where they are consistent, but not victorious enough.

A strong squad, holding many very active members, take for example Highlander999, Simbazz and Biggy, just to name a few. They have also managed to secure the abilities of Andy Flower, Bart King, Jack Hobbs and Malcolm Marshall for just over 20 million. Surely they will have great fire power this year, with the batting of Flower and Hobbs, this could be a very good season for the destroyers. And, with the luck of the Irish, they might be this season?s surprise package in the PCPL.

Now, let?s move to Vatican Victors, who gained promotion last year, and will be right up there this year due to the changes in the league structure.

Owned and maintained by Kishitiz Indian, along with Abhas and World Champions, they have managed to sign sohum for this year?s PCPL, who has received a very warm welcome to the VV setup. Again, another team who have managed to sign some good players, including Kapil Dev and Geoffrey Boycott, and accompanied with the batting batting power thanks to Kishitiz, and the bowling of Abhas and World Champions, they should not be discarded as a serious contender.

Now, we?ll visit Manchester Divided, the champions of PCPL in season 1.

Relegated from the old division 1 last season, they are lucky to remain with the top teams this year. However, they have arguably signed the best players from the auction, with Sydney Barnes, Viv Richards and Don Tallon joining up with the team. Another signing for MD this season has been KBC, after seeing him play superbly in the PCCL, Zorax had no option but to draft him in during the member draft. Especially after the announcements that Skater and Jaztheman have decided to retire, and the sale of GiggityGiggity, last season's Vice-Captain. They have also spent a lot of money in the auction, 41million on their three nats.
Watch this team carefully, as they will be out to win once again.

And finally, we move on to Beijing Blitzers.

Captained by Surendar, BB have signed and paid for all 4 of the players that they won in the international auction, including Ravi Shastri, and Romesh Kaluwithrana. Not lacking in depth, Beijing have a strong team spirit, and are not ashamed to show themselves to be Blitzers. Take their avatars for example, most of the players have their own personalised kit, the only team in the PCPL to do this so far. Funknath will believe that they have the quality to win the PCPL this year, and so will every team that is participating.

Well, I hope that this gives everyone an insight into the upcoming season of the PCPL.

Why have Toronto Tanks got the least written on them when we were the champions last year?
