After a successful start to the tour, Planet Cricket made the most of their momentum against Bangladesh on a dominant opening day. Rustagi and Anirudh Chandrasekaran made the perfect combination at the top of the order, combining for a 155-run opening stand.
Rustagi missed out on three figures, and was soon joined in the hutch by the hero of the first game, Matt Coldhill, but Anirudh made no such mistake. The composed opener reached his century in a little under five hours before falling for 118.
@Aggz Nick Agger joined keeper @Simon Kerrigan and saw the tourists safely to the close with 270 on the board.
The tourists began the day on 270 for three off 90 overs, They managed to reach 363 by the end of the 119th over when lunch was called.
@Simon Simon in particular, declined to change tempo from the first day before being surprised by a bit of lift from Islam and edging through to second slip, Shakib, @The Author Bowden became the victim for Shakib, well-caught by Razzak at slip after edging the ball.
@Aggz Agger reached his half-century before the interval, having faced 120 balls and struck just a boundary before getting bowled off Hossian
@El Loco Loco and the @Dipak skipper added an attractive 63 inside 20 overs for the seventh wicket. Shakib celebrated fourth scalp when Dipak cut one that held its line to peg back off stump.
Loco, having brought up a stylish fifty with two boundaries, was dropped at mid wicket. Loco and Ryder put on 28 before Shakib turned with 4th spell and took his fifth wicket
Loco found another willing partner in @vaibhav Tewatia and @RPHKR Lee, who were at the crease for 40 and 73 minutes.
Tewatia, should have gone without scoring when he edged his eighth ball from Islam to first slip but Sohag Gazi put down a straightforward catch, but was bowled for 7 runs by a beauty off Razzak picking up his second wicket.
Loco made 89* with some glorious straight-drives and put on 41 with Lee. Soon Lee was bowled off Islam and PlanetCricket were bowled out for 497 with three short of 500 mark.
Great stuff by the batsmen, Anirudh and Loco made full use of the opportunity they got. Good to see Simon scoring runs up front, nice batting by Rustagi too. Good going guys.
