We bowled with more control on a pitch gifting good pace and carry and managed to oust both home openers.

Lee was quickly into his stride this morning and had Tamim Iqbal, playing and missing quite a few bowls but was was bowled via inside edge when Lee cut one back during a good spell.

Tamim Iqbal laboured for his 6 from 14, until he was bowled by a faster delivery from Lee, and Anamul Haque batted for 7 before being adjudged lbw to Jack Ryder.

Mominul and Shakib made a positive start after two quick wickets adding 46 from 91 balls, Tewatia, although been smashed for four, would had Shakib when he was badly dropped at third slip by Yash Raj.

It was more than 30 mins before the visitors finally broke through. Mominul, who had hardly played a false stroke in cruising to 29 from 75 balls, was surprised by a Tewatia's short ball, held to wicket keeper.

Shakib otherwise looked in total control as our quicker bowlers struggled a bit to take wickets on surface which is playing far better than might have been expected.

By then the shackles seemed to have been removed. Shakib brought up his half-century off 129 balls with successive boundaries off Dipak from 120 deliveries.

Tea was taken at 167 for three.

Shakib partnership with Mushfiqur had put Bangladesh in a strong position, although we - armed with a new ball - threatened to fight back with three further wickets either side of stumps. Mushfiqur Rahim went on to complete his half-century off 112 balls, but wickets continued to tumble at the end other end as Sohag Gazi was bowled by Pu Lee.

Rahim was the next to perish, pinned lbw by Tewatia, and Adbur Razzak was bowled off Jack Ryder. A fine spell from Ryder brought the wickets of Razzak and Robiul Islam, who were lbw for 9 and 1 respectively.

We enjoyed a superb first day at Chittagong as we took complete control against Bangladesh.
