how do you connect to the network and also as i have limited internet downloads will this use them up. also will a set top box be enough to support the ps3 graphics on an old tv(not that old but not digital). lastly how many ps2 games don't work on the ps3

Oh, so is the price also ridicolous in the UK? The AUS price is just terrible. Xbox 360s are way more affordable. But I want the PS3 because I have had a PS and a PS2.

It may seem steep, but it's worth every single penny. Buy it from a shop where you pay monthly installments instead; You can find yourself playing very manageable sums of 20 quid a month or whatever the conversion is to Aussie Dollars.

That might be the case in St Helens, but in Grotty Grantham we only have the one 'Game' shop and they don't do that sort of thing.

Hooper. Buy a PS3. Best console out there imo. Looks gorgeous, is quiet (unlike the tank that is the 360), doesnt have a history of mass breakage, you dont need to keep it in a fridge to stop it from overheating, some quality games coming out in the next few months and it just has all the features you could want. The PS3 is a fantastic console.

Why not save ?200 and upgrade your PC? The PS3 will be outdated in 12-18 months, yet the new HD cards for PC's already surpass the quality of PS3's.

I got a new motherboard the other day, and now have 6GB of RAM, which I picked up from a local retailer for ?90.

PS3's are limited and are waaay overpriced. Waiting for them to go down in price will be a mistake, as they will be outdated by the time they are affordable.

Maybe playing games online with the PlayStation 3 isn't too good, I don't know, but the process of getting it online is much better than the Xbox 360.

The PlayStation has a built-in functionality allowing to connect to my wireless network. With the Xbox 360, I would have had to buy a seperate piece of equipment.

Well buying an extra piece is worth it lol.

Plus I didn't have to go buy anything and the online just pwns hard. Plus isn't PS3 getting a bunch of ripped games from 360?

They've got good graphics but too bad the code of the PS3 is much harder to programe compared to the 360, hence 360 - enjoyable!

Heard of PSN home ? It's the future of online gaming and is set for release in the next few months. The 360 may be better online, but frankly, when your console is away for repair for most of the year it doesnt give you much time to play it . The only features that the 360 has that the PS3 doesnt is online features. I'm not a big online gamer so it doesnt affect me. I'd much rather have:
- Blu-ray
- overall media experience
- quiet machine

over a decent online mode. The PS3 is much better than the 360 imo. I owned a 360 for over a year and just got sick of it. The PS3 is a much better all round system.

I agree. The Xbox 360, which I had from 5th May 2006 until 25th August 2007, felt unfinished. It did not have an internal fan, it did not have built-in wireless functionality and it was white.

The PlayStation 3, which I have had since Tuesday, just seems much less of a gimmick and I am much more proud of it.
