For me the question of XBox360 or PS3 is simple.

Which is heavier?

I'd go for the heaviest one as it will be much better for being used as a doorstop, as is the fate for all consoles six months down the line from their purchase!

PS3 is heavier

The format that wins the battle wont be determined by technical superiority but by the number of companies backing it and the money put behind it. Buying a PS3 because it has a Blu Ray player so that you can watch movies on that format is not a good idea because it is very taxing on the reader. If it burns out in a couple of years then you'll have to buy a new PS3 whereas with Xbox 360 you'll only have to buy a new HD-DVD player.

That's a big if, AbBh.

It wont be the case if you watch movies on it occasionally but certainly if you do so regularly. No big if's here

Also, there's not much point in buying a Blu-ray or HD-DVD player unless you have a mahoosive big HDTV, in which case the price of a decent player to complement it is not likely to worry you.

I think most of us know how much you love your PS3, any point posting it again and again.

We'd be half way there if we didn't buy each of the horrible EA Cricket series

Even on standard TV the difference is quite notable, obviously on a good HDTV it's a lot better but it's still noticable on SDTV

Not much difference then, the problem with Xbox is they are having a lot of trouble with this Ring of Death nonsense, which happened to me the other day, i wasnt pleased
