Meh no point of a £400 console with no games on it....

That would be very true, i would be very dissapointed if i bought a games console for £400 and had no games. Luckily with the PS3 there's:

NFS: ProStreet also coming for PS3 on Xbox 360 too. I don't think there should be any competition between PS3 and Xbox 360 both consoles are best.

I'm getting the PS3 for Christmas with 3 games. They came today, FIFA 08, F1 and Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and an extra wireless controller. However, I was thinking of trading in a few PS2 games at Game or Gamestation and getting an extra PS3 game or two. I was thinking about perhaps Skate or Haze when it comes out, just wondering what other people thought I should get.

Good choices. I would recommend Stuntman: Ignition for another game, it takes a while to get right, but doing the stunts well afterwards and winning awards for them is very rewarding. I was so happy when I finally completed the "On Ice" scene today, for an action/adventure film called 'Don't Ever Kill Me Again'. It's the most difficult one I've finished so far. Very decent game.

Skate is alright, but the tricks take a long time to master. You will spend hours redoing every task.

Get Resistance, Skate, PES 08, Motorstorm, Haze, Heavenly Sword, Folklore, you'll need a few games to trade in to get that lot, but there's some cracking games there Phil. You chose the right time to get a PS3 i reckon, what with PES, Smackdown, Haze, Stranglehold and Lair coming out in the next month or two. Seems i'll need money for games again .

Are they still expensive? Are they ever planning on dropping in price because i'll never play it enough to be worth £400 for me, oh and i refuse to buy anything but the best option, sorry, it's the way it is in my family

£375 for a 60gb with an extra controller and a game OR
£279.99 for the flawed 40gb version with nothing extra

Wow cheers guys I might have one sooner than i thought! Thats miles better, does it need a cable to get HD working? I'll probably get one after my GCSE's next year, because hopefully i'll be quids in with money for doing well and to be honest another distraction won't be reccomendable this year Hopefully they'll have gone down a bit more by then too.

Yep, neither edition comes with a HDMI cable, they need to be bought seperately for just under ?20.

Just under £20 ? you got ripped off Lee. Considering HDMi cables are digital, there is no difference in quality if you compare a cheap one with one of the more expensive ones, such as Comet's Monster Cable. The only differences are the the type of material used to plate the cable and the length of the cable itself. The different type of plating does nothing to affect the quality of picture, just the life span of the cable iirc, it's something to do with letting oxygen into the cable or something. You can pickup HDMi cables from a variety of stores for around £5, the Belkin one on dabs.com is £6. I thought i got ripped off paying £9 for the Game one, just under £20, was it the Official Sony one ?

I heard they have gone down here in Aus here as well! 1000 bucks down to 637! Bloody awesome! Might be able to afford one now Lee
