Also I believe when PS3 came out it was ?400 or somthing stupid like that, whereas at that time 360's had dropped to ?250 (how much I got mine for with PES6...)

I'll still be getting a PS3 I'm just a major 360 fanboy atm

!

PS3 was ?425 at launch, 360 was ?280. If you consider how much microsoft charge for a wireless adaptor, live and an hd movie player the PS3 is a pretty good deal. If you dont want all that stuff, then the 360 is perfect. I personally want wireless internet, the ability to play games online and an hd movie player, so the cheapest option is the PS3. It does the job for me. It wont be the same for everyone.

Ok this I didnt hear, Lair shouldnt be on that list it got 3/10 from EDGE Magazine and their a top notch mag, and half the things I hear arent false, I just cant be asked to go to the other forums and search out for the links....and Ninja Gaiden Sigma I dont know much about it but I swear thats not the follow up to Nija Gaiden 2?

OMFG, EDGE said it was bad, it's got to be true. ?? Some magazines have said it was poor, but an equal amount have said it was decent, Gamepro, Gamezone, Play, HonestGamers have all given it above 7. It's not the best game in the world, but you cant say it shouldnt be on the list because of 1 review. Granted, it has got quite a few poor reviews, but it is a solid exclusive.

One more thing can one of you PS3 owners tell me the goods of PSN or whatever its called (online basically)?
PS: It being free doesnt count as a good,

Firstly, why does it being free not count towards the positives of the system ? The system has almost all the features of live, messaging, ability to send multimedia files through messages, private chat, you can connect to lobbys the same as on the xbox, you have a friends list. It's very solid for a first real attempt at an online service. You have to remember, Xbox Live has been running for 5 years now, since 2002. Sony have been running the PSN since March this year, it's not going to be as good as live. It has all the key features that are needed for an online experience, plus PSN Home is coming out soon which looks to be very very interesting. If you havent heard of it, heres a brief description:

Wikipedia said:
PlayStation Home is a community based service for the PlayStation Network which will become freely available when it launches in early 2008. Home allows users to create an avatar character for their PlayStation 3 console. This avatar will get their own house, which can be decorated with items players can receive in several achievements. Also included in the online virtual world is the ability to meet other PS3 users, interact, play games, show friends different types of media saved on the PS3 hard drive, and much more. In the future home will also expand, allowing players to have more items such as clothing, luxury housing, household items, which can be purchased via PlayStation Store.

This will also be a free service and will be a fantastic tool for Sony to use to build on the online system. Having watched Sony's E3 presentation i was very intrigued by Home and it looks to be a very very good tool to use. The way it allows you to meet up with friends in the home in between matches is great and it allows for multiple chat and stuff like that. I can see the PSN being very very good in a year or so.

Exactly thats why lives better. Plus I'm sure the messaging and friends list are no way near as slick as they are on the 360. That home things pretty odd, I mean to meet new people you simply play with them (if you have a match online against them) and if you like them then it's all good. Or you can go on forums like me and many others have and get a amazing group of friends in your FL!

I want a PS3 but I'm still in doubt it definatly won't be my online console and I don't think it ever will be. But It'd be a nice one player console.

PS: I just dont think PSN being free's some sort of big thing it's not like its helping the online expiriance (Sony probably knew no one would buy it hehe...that was a joke...) I mean sure if Live was free I wouldnt complain but I'm more than happy to pay £40 for a whole year!

It would cost me around an extra ?110 to get connected to the internet and playing online games with an Xbox 360. With the PlayStation 3, the wireless facility is built in and there is no subscription.

£110!

Cost me £40...unless you have to buy a router or somthing, but my ethernet cable connects from the xbox to the back of the PC so I can't see the problem.

(Although I do use the router...)

The wireless equipment can cost ?70, with subscription ?40. The PlayStation 3 has an advantage over the Xbox 360 in that the wireless facility is built in as standard and there is no subscription.

Surely PS3 on for me rather than a 360. PS3 is far better

I haven't got mine yet (getting it for Christmas), but yeah, the PS3 has wireless networking and allows you to quickly register on the PSN before starting to play!

So you don't have to connect it to a computer first then? Sounds good, is yours 40gb or 60gb?

On the PS3 can you go online straight away without having to do anything?

If there is a wireless network in your home, yep, you don't have to do anything to connect to the internet. You do need to register for a PlayStation Network account for when you play games online though, but it only takes a few minutes.

Until I bought a PlayStation 3, I had never played games online with a console. Now it's so easy I do.

Care to elaborate Lee?

I don't know what there is to elaborate.:p

You need a wireless network in your house for the PlayStation 3 to connect to.

Thanks very much Lee.

If you have a router Jaz. I am getting the 60gb one.

How much are you getting yours for Phil? Also could someone say all of the differences between 60gb and 40gb. And no smart-arse 20gb resonse please. :p
