Please have World Cup every 2 years

It would be great for the game if we could have the World Cup every 2 years and the Twenty 20 World cup the other year. This would ensure a major tournament every year and would give the lesser teams more opportunity. It would also bring in greater Revenue for the ICC which can be used for globalization.

Also, these Events should be held in offshore countries to promote the game. There should also be more teams in the World Cup.

Silly idea. Sixteen teams is fine for the World Cup at the moment, and a World Cup every two years is way too often.

Also a WC every two years will not help the cause,it will ose its flavor and magic.

How will this work if you also want players to play 30 tests, 50 ODI's and 20 Twenty20's a year? What happens the year of the World Cup? What happens when there are no skilled players playing cricket anymore? Is that when you propose another boycott--this time towards the cricketing boards because they can't produce players?

Guys, I feel that this fellow is an alien from a planet where cricket is played differently to how it is on earth.
He comes from a planet where a day is longer than 24hrs and hence he wants players to turn up and play everyday !

another idea would be have wc middle of 1 year and 20/20 mid year next year and then C trophy the year after and have the wc every 3 years would be a good idea so there is a major event every year. but even then it would get a bit conjested

2 years just isn't normal, every other sport has at least 4 years between World cups and that the way it should stay. Having it every 2 years means it loses it's special feel about it cause you have another shot at winning it or losing it (in Australia case) in just 2 years time.

Your forgetting the CT, which shouldnt be lessened than the Twenty20 game, it should be Worldcup, T20, CT so maybe

But then again, should the CT just be slotted in a few months before the world cup so it looks like so...

I think it should be like that myself with the CT playing second fiddle to the WC, and it a spring board opportunity for bigger teams to get practise and for smaller teams like Zim and Bangla to try to win the thing.

Infact they should stick to the format they used in Dhaka and Nairobi.
The knock-out is more fun as all matches are interesting. :happy
