Pro Evolution Soccer 2009

In between 90-110 on filefront, been downloading for a couple of hours now and am on 67%.

The more I play and get used to the controls (especially manual), the more the game is beginning to produce some great attacks and moves. Although Keane ended his goal draught tonight in reality, he just made a complete mess of the finish in probably the most clinical move i've ever done on a football game.

Problem was, it was a complete accident. I broke from a corner, 2-1 down with 10 mins left, so really I had about a minute. The ball fell too Torres, and the overlap was provided by Pennant, who I played a quick one to with, and he kept on running at full pelt, taking the left back with him. Torres then faked the pass, brushed past Ferdinand, and I then tried a shimmy, forgetting that the Right Stick is now manual pass. The ball flew across the surface, perfectly weighted through the legs of an unsuspecting backtracker, straight into the path of Pennant. His face looked as suprised as I was, and he reached the byline, hooked the ball back with manual cross, straight to the onrushing Robbie Keane. He must have been preparing his crappy celebration before he even hit the ball, as he caught it beautifully but crashed it against the bar, to the obvious anguish of Pennant, who sank to his knees.

It felt better than it sounds though, the luck of the pass, the speed, the dummy, the inch perfect cross. Everything just felt so right, and I'm afraid thats something I have yet to experience with FIFA. Still, comparing them is daft, they are so radically different.

I can't be bothered downloading it yet, but i'm increasingly excited about playing this now.

I havnt read the comments in this thread since I found out the demo was out. In short words; I'm disappointed.

I'm not impressed by it at all, I can still see shades of the PS2 version in this game, and the fact that it feels like they have just slowed it down so it seems realistic. Well it doesnt theres nothing unique or nothing new here as far as the gameplay is concerned. The eye candy isnt the best either.

In conclusion, the slower lumpy play won't make this game good in my eyes, I was hoping KONAMI would do something unique to revive the PES series but looks like I'll give it a pass this time, I'll try give the full version a try at a mates house or w.e but I dont think I will be convicnced as I dont see the gameplay changing.

PES isnt the first game to have Ronaldo's free kick annimation. I've played this more (on Top Player) and I dunno just doesnt feel like the game I want to play. Still some funky goal keeping going on, just doesnt feel unique.

Possibly a good multiplayer game.

Ahh that's a shame, i guess you will have to play fifa this year then.

man i nearly scored a spectacular volley with ribery from outside the area...henry plays a trhough ball for nasri on the wing who crosses on the volley and ribery let rip...hits the post and out...probably would have been my best goal yet on pro evo

Downloading PES 2009 PS3 demo. My cousin says it's massively improved so I'm very excited for the demo. I'll probably still get FIFA but I like to play both first before commenting.
