Question: is the outfield too slow?

That should be ideal but only seems comparatively harder right now because of the confidence factor. International players almost never start with zero confidence. Maybe a debutante but even he would be backing himself up.

the only effect i see with confidence is it increases your ideal timing as it increases in return makes it easy for scoring, so if i were to spin it i would say this is confidence relative to the conditions which increases as you get accustomed to it rather than belief/form confidence.

If you work a bit on your timing as well as increase skill points you should get going from the start.

Or it should just be the correct level of friction given the conditions and what would actually happen. If you don't want the grass to slow the ball down, hit in the air.

Keep in mind that the AI gets the same outfield that you do, you might miss a four here and there, but so will the AI.

For me timing is the problem here. AI can easily time the ball perfectly, but for human players, if you don't premeditate and actually try to judge the ball before hitting it, the timing is a tad late and you don't get value for the shots. This is especially frustrating while playing a cover drive as there is risk involved in that shot and its a lot of risk to be taken for just a single or double.

Maybe I am just poor at judging the ball's line and length and play the shot a tad late anyway, but it feels like we need to hit the shot too quickly to time the ball very well.

This is an issue that both GK and I have talked about in the past.

Basically, I agree that the perfect timing window is a bit too early, and that as a result it's a bit more difficult to play the ball on merit than it really should be - and especially, especially on length because the hud colour system is somewhat unreliable, and perceiving length is difficult without it.

I work around this by simplifying my shot decision, usually cutting my options down to a defensive and one of two attacking shots - so let's say against fast medium I'm looking to defend around off stump, leg glance/pull anything too straight or legside (the game makes the decision of whether to leg glance or pull based on length so I'm counting that as a single player shot decision) and cut when I get width outside off stump.

the % of players playing online, vs everyone else frustrated with the AI, means online should not distract from AI fixes. assuming finite resources (i.e. in the real world), something's got to give and it should not be fixing the AI.

Just because YOU only play Offline , doesnt mean that they now have to only focus on your side of the game mate . I`m sure they will touch on everything , and not just cater for the Offline market .

They should but they will probably prioritize AI related issues higher. But yeah online shouldn't be ignored and the online part of the game should work as well as the offline one.

What side of the game I play is irrelevant. It's a case of there bring limited resources, and vastly more people playing offline vs AI, so it is simply business sense to focus on that. IF there has to be trade-off, it's clear which should be prioritised.

Well lets wait and see if the Online community is left in the mud ...

pathetic.

nobody has said the online issues don't matter, or shouldn't ever be fixed or whatever... it is simply pointing out that there are bigger issues affecting a much larger proportion of players and that should take priority for the next improvement.

FFS.

Dont take it too harshly: the new baby puked on his work suit and he only got three hours sleep the night before: ah the joys of fatherhood!

Make an option when "outfield : slow fast moderate auto"

I had hit just 4 boundaries (hit without aggressive or lofted shots trigger) in an innings of a test match and scored 400+. This shows how slow the outfield is.
