Random Thoughts

I'm in love with HKUST. Part of the Uni Cricket team, and the frontline goalkeeper for the International Student Association football team, as well as reserve goalkeeper for the Mechanical Engineering team. Never played so much sport in my life, loving it.

Nice stuff mate! :)
I never knew you were a decent goal keeper

already? bit early isn't it? i know that training starts right about now for club cricket.

First round of club cricket today here in Dunners. I was surprised too because it would usually start a week or two from now.

It was probably in the top 5 worst games of my life.
Injured my groin and it took me like 5 minutes to get in my car after the game. Awful game of cricket.

So I tore my ankle ligaments nearly 3 weeks ago now, how long should I leave it before I start swimming etc.? I'm getting pissed at not driving, and want to get fit again.

Always hated playing goalie. But the quality of football is so high here that I would have gotten nowhere playing defence. And as it turns out, no one likes being goalie in the whole uni. So that worked out well for me.

Have you made the Canadian cricket team yet? :p

If you tore them rather than strained them, it's normally about 3 months with some strengthening work. Did you see anyone about it when you did it?

Start a team. The Uni is about 70% Asian anyways, I'm sure you'll have no difficulty getting a playing XI :p

I was close to snapping one of them, within a centimetre.

I have had 4 x-rays on it, and am now having weekly physio. Went to hospital about an hour after I did it.

I'm just getting fed up of having to use the bus/get lifts everywhere. I don't care about not playing football or rugby, I just want to get back to work again. Sacked the crutches off a few days ago; got pissed off with them.

Also, Mark if you get this, come on MSN.

DO NOT rush it back. You could end up regretting it for years to come.

I agree with this. I've right royally stuffed up my shoulder by trying to get back into things too quickly. First time I stretched the muscle, which was sickeningly painful, tried to come back too early and ended up tearing it and needing an operation and have successfully messed up my cricket.

I tried some light jogging on Thursday, it lasted about 4 steps.

So you guys reckon I should lay off the swimming for a bit yet? Despite now having been invited by a very hot girl?

I think if you're struggling to walk, then definitely not.

I went back to bowling within 3 weeks of doing my shoulder the first time, I thought that was enough time, but obviously not, as I woke up in an ambulance with what felt like an amputated arm.
