Random Thoughts

The State Government in Chennai probably has got to be the worst in the world . The election results are not far behind , and one of our major contestants (actually the current Chief Minister) , in order to retain his place back as CM , has stupidly opted for a power cut everyday that's composed of two 'one-hour' intervals in order to save energy ! And guess what ? Its the smoking hot summer season here in Chennai with the minimum temperature over the fortnight being 35 degrees celcius ! What madness this is ?? Literally killing people via sun strokes . :facepalm

We live in India mate. It's the same everywhere else here. And the temperature here, at Delhi, is already soaring to 40+, much more than at your place.

A small overview. I don't know that much about rugby, so the in-depth stuff would probably just go over my head :p

Union is 15 players a side, League 13.
League is started from a place kick (like American Football), Union is started from a drop kick to the opposition.
League you have 6 tackles to score a try before the ball is turned over to the other side and in Union the side has unlimited tackles.
Union is 5 points for a try and 2 for a conversion, League is 4 for a try and 2 for a conversion.
When a tackle is made in League the player has to get up and roll the ball through his legs to restart and when one is made in Union a ruck is formed and both teams may contest for the ball.

That's a basic overview that covers basic differences.

Last year it was even worst, although there is not a drastic difference in the temperature but still the temperature has been a little better than the last year. If you live in Delhi, you get used to such temperatures.

Atleast Delhi experiences temperatures below 10 during winters . That's not the case here in Chennai , the best temperature you can hope for is 23 .

Exactly .

So Union's the more brutal of the two? Which format is used during the WC?

Even as a Union fan, I reckon there are bigger hits in League. They are both equally as brutal to be honest.

There's a World Cup for each format but for League it's only 10 teams where as the Union one is 20.

I've gone from doing 4 hours a week on a Sunday to a full time Supervisor who's in charge of the warehouse and is going to be made keyholder, in the space of a week.

Feels good man.

Congrats! :)

Anyone reckon its far too humid in the North of England today? There has been sun, storm and now a un-clouded sun beaming straight through my window at some 1000 degree Celsius!

I've ended up sun burnt!!!! Nothing like a cricket match to turn you into a lobster. Also Jack, that's the exact same shift I started with and I am currently temporary assistant manager lol
