Realistic goals for International Cricket 2010?

Better physics implemented. AC09 had done it good enough. So an improvement shouldn't be too much to ask.

AI. I never understand why developers just neglect this too much.
Is it too much to ask for the AI to spread the field when I am slogging or
for it to start defending when I am on a second hattrick in the match.
And Yeah, pacing of the innings is really important.

More animations - fluidity is the word.

Is it realistic or am I being too optimistic by cricket games standards ?

Holy ████, that's earlier than I would ever have expected

thats what i thought, if that is the date or something around then i reckon we can only expect the patched version we should have had last time, so realisticly nothing new is going to be in there other than that strange camera thingy.

I dont know guys, Im smelling something that gives off the whiff of an EA rat. I have a feeling Codies are pulling a stunt here by releasing a game that is practically the same as AC09. If they want the game released in 3 months I doubt it will be anything significantly different this time around. Perhaps a UI change and a couple of new bits with much more bugs.

Really not trying to be the pessimistic ass over here but I can tell theres going to be a sh!t-storm loose in a few months with people demanding their money back. When have we ever had a decent follow up to a game within less than a year from the previous release?

My guess is never, so just dont try to get your hopes up with these suggestions. It will inevitably lead to great disappointment.

Even if the game is released late in the year a lot of peoples suggestions like a career mode which is a very good shout i agree, is so unrealistic to ever happen.
I think as long the run rate, line and length to correct areas and online stats and quitting problems are fixed most people will be satisfied and anything else is a bonus.

Stats tracking online/offline. Though not a priority but something like real stats tracking through some official website for online matches would be incredible. EA Fifa has this, Cricket Revolution has it as well and if they can do it..just putting it out there.

Online make it so you can bowl spin overs without getting whacked for a boundary in every ball. In Ac09 everybody just spammed medium fast/fast bowlers. That's not realistic cricket imo.

More commentary. It feels way too quite in AC09 sometimes.

Last but not least, punishment for disconnecters online and ability to save online test matches/One day games.

On that point regarding line/length. I know that we cant expect any significant changes to the game mechanics, so I guess the coloured rings for ball placement (bowling) will stay....but what are your guys' thoughts on this system?

I for one would like this to change....Im not fond of the computer deciding when my delivery is good or not - takes control away from the player. Anyway, just putting it out there....

Coming back to IC2010:

Even though I dont think we will see ANY noticable improvements I HOPE the following will be included:

1 - As many pointed out, proper stats tracking AND the ability to access wagonwheels etc AT WILL, not just for every 25 runs Ive scored.

2 - Manual replays!

3 - Do away with the moronic angle at which auto-replays are shown. When I get a batsman caught behind, what is the use of showing the replay from fine-leg?

4 - Logical AI please. Dont start slogging when you're 60/6!

5 - Field Editor to show player names alongside positions. Greame Smith has never and never will field at Fine Leg.

6 - For off-line play add another difficulty level like Expert. Ive never conceded more than 200 runs on Hard-mode and usually score at over 10 rpo without using the slog button. I shouldnt have to fiddle with player stats in order to make the game more difficult...

More to follow once I think of them...

Ah, time to wriggle out of the wood work!!

I think its stupid to set sights high with this game. However i few tweaks and additions to AC2009 and in my opinion we could have a very decent cricket game.

Stat Tracking, i think clear important to most.

The AI slogging, tests need to be a test, a war of attrition. Work hard for your wickets.

Also, something i was thinking about, play and misses!!... AC2009 was very, they either hit it, sumhow edge it straight down or edge to slips.

If possible the odd exspansive drive, missed fly through to keeper etc. Something to get the ooohs, and ahhh's going. Nothing worse than almost knowing what going to happen.

This is just my opinion but i was never a massive fan, of the first person fielding camera. I like a realistic feel, therfore stay in broadcast view. Let me see my edges fly to slip.....

I want the bowling system to be improved. They apparently have added something new to batting (powerstick) but bowling is what needs improvement the most. I don't think the coloured ring system worked. I did not like it one bit. They need to add a lot to bowling part of this thing. They have to make it fun both for pacers and spinners.
AI in Ashes was a real pain the ass. It was appalling to see how it resorted to mindless slogging. Inspite of all their claims, codemasters could not make it any better than previous cricket titles. I don't know if they can do it this time around if they base their game on the same engine but then again I am no techie.
Anyways it is very sensible not be very optimistic about this game. I do not think Codies have given themselves enough to build on the positives of ashes 2009.

Something I'd like to see is conditions affecting the action, and pitch deterioration over time. Not such a ridiculous demand I think, but also one that would make the game far better.

1) Rain and bad light stopped play.

2) Limitless created players/teams.

3) Better stats tracking.

4) Remember in BLIC07 when you had a national pool (e.g. Shaun Udal as back-up for England). I would like to see that back, but instead you can change the squad to include them, unlike in BLIC07.

5) Also a player cards system like in PES would be great (e.g. Susceptable to short ball, Good death bowler, Strike bowler, Big hitter) it would make the players more unique. You could even have cards for shots (e.g. Plays reverse sweep).

More to follow when I think of them.

fantastic suggestions mate !

all i want is some sort of action cam where it takes you into the heart of the action, wouldnt that be awesome?:sarcasm

1.I want there to be loads of different pitch conditions and outfields which are affected by weather and you should be able to choose what the pitch will be like in exhibition matches but not tournaments.

2.They also need to focus on gameplay and make test matches and odi's more realistic because if I bowl first its just to easy to bowl out the opposition i.e in most test match's I'd bowl the other team out after about 30-40 overs for roughly 130 runs.

3.They could also introduce special shots for odi's and twenty20 like reverse sweeps or the shot were they go down like they're playing a sweep but flick it over the wicket keeper.

These are just a few of my suggestions and they're not very hard for codemasters to do

Just because they're "not very hard to do", it doesn't mean they'll do it. You have to understand that there are business decisions to be made. Gimmicks like action cam get priority over fundamental basics like stats tracking to help ensure the product makes a profit. That's the stance they're taking and always will. You may not agree with it - but so what?
