Recess Mafia - Mafia (Hedger & IceAge) Win!

And not sure what I'm not figuring out? Although thinking about it, musk having a guilty report on loco could make sense, as loco has been more aggressive towards musk, rather than joejoe who has done even less that's townie than him.
I already posted that I was unconvinced by this. I was the one who he FOSed on the second day, which is why if he is implying that he is cop (I don't like to be so explicit but I guess kind of have to be here), he either is fake claiming, or alluding to something else which I can't fathom. The former is obviously complete and utter tosh from my point of view as I know myself to be town...unless on the off chance that he might have chosen to withhold his findings. That is why I had chosen not to switch my lynch when I was possibly on the verge of doing so.

@User2010; it shouldn't be the players prodding the game mod about inactivity ;) Although someone else should check the vote count just to make sure I've not accidentally miscounted: which would be a bad thing especially when you are past the deadline.

On the musketeer cop thing; I can't make a firm comment until I see the results of today's lynch and whatever happens tonight. My current position is that the guy is scum and hinted that to try and last out the day since he knew that he was under threat. It was a very obvious "hint" but that might just be a newbie thing: subtlety is something that you have to learn...

That might change if joe comes out as scum though; I can't see the two newbies as both being scum.

The thing with new players is that it's never a big risk to lynch them off, especially in a bigger game like this. Unfortunately usually they aren't going to add much even when they're alive. So in other words it's worth the risk.

We'll see how it turns out, I think he's Mafia. If he isn't then we need a bigger push on day 3 as people such as myself are in the background doing nothing.

A newbie PR is still useful to the town because they still do the whole investigative or protective thing. Especially the protective roles: they have less need to out themselves provided they aren't being heavily scrutinised by the town. We shouldn't "lynch them off" by rule because that makes it harder for new people to play the game. I always give the benefit of the doubt towards newbies: hence why I didn't go for the lynch on joejoe. musketeer is different; I just think that there's a bigger element of scum play there...

Yeah. Well I just think it was a random fos for the sake of fos'ing like he said. I think if he actually was cop he'd have just outright claimed when he was asked for reasoning rather than just saying he had to make it up (I think he used those words which again kind of implies it wasn't based on a report or even an actual read).

I don't know how you can give the benefit of the doubt to joejoe here and not musk. Also of both two, musk is the only one that even could be a town pr. Joejoe is obviously not a pr if you can't tell already so that post seems like a contradiction. Or at least you're pointing out useless info about newbie pr's, because the rest of that post implies anything but there being newbie prs in the game.

power role, in loose terms not a vanilla townie. Depends what you want to classify as a pr though. Anything with a night action (in this case I'm talking town) is what I'd go with.

This, I totally agree with this. Musk and Joe, both are equally newbies yet Musk has tried defending himself and is likely to be a townie (not sure about pr) when comparing to Joe, who doesn't have any clue about what a pr is. No doubt they both are scum-read by us at the moment but that doesn't change the fact that one of them might be a townie then again, not sure if pr. About Musk being a cop, I don't know how he randomly gave away that expression, one newbie does not simply do that, he might be a cop but then what Loco said so to me it's a bit too messy to decide what he really is and I'd rather anyway wait for what result comes up today.

No point, you're hammered already. Dunno where User's at.

You try again!

Done!!!

The people woke up to find a dead body.

Simon was Vince LaSalle,
recess team aligned.

With 8 alive, it takes 5 for a lynch!

Day 3 now.

Well I'm a little annoyed that joejoe didn't claim before getting lynched, he had enough time and one of the main characters if I recall correctly. A little surprised at the townflip after his play.

I didn't realise roles weren't revealed though, that's a little annoying. Writeup doesn't give away much again but the Simon kill is interesting. Maybe seeing something I haven't seen or could just be a more cautious kill after the mafia's kill failed n1.

Here was the voting order.

joejoe (6) - hedger, themusketeer, thedon, Sulaiman, Yash, Simon
themusketeer (4) - IceAgeComing, El Loco, Varun, joejoe

Thedon is going to really need to contribute a lot more now. Of the people on the joejoe lynch, he's the one that looks the worst. Sulaiman is surely town, I'm also worried about yash. The timing on his vote is a little awkward, despite his reads solid around that time. However they have been the only logic he's been talking all game so something feels a bit off. For the moment I'll give him the benefit of the doubt though

The people that were on the musk bandwagon are what I'm more bothered about. The lynch on him felt very wrong, and I think one mafia at least was trying to get some town cred by protecting joejoe slightly and pushing on musk instead. Even if musk is scum, I think one of them tried to bus. Of the 3, I can't townread any of them, Loco was more townie to begin with but has become less so as the game has gone on. Varun still remains my main fos, and i'd like him to be a lot stronger today, otherwise I think he is the best lynch for today.

So I'm just going to reiterate.

FOS: Varun, thedon5

I'll wait for everyone to add their own thoughts now.

Oh well I wasn't really expecting Joe to turn out be a townie, his actions (doesn't matter if was newbie or not) did really really give off scum vibes, look at the lynch order, i was still giving him chance after chance to claim but he wouldn't. I, a lot of times said about claims but no and no one even bothered giving thoughts about that. Well anyway, the writeup ain't helping and so isn't anyone as of yet. Simon was the only person who was giving me town vibes (I did state that before) and now he's dead, great -_-.

I didn't realise roles weren't revealed though, that's a little annoying.

Aren't the roles always not revealed in a closed set-up? I'm just asking.

Exactly what I think of. I was sure that someone will try to do that so I was keeping a close eye on everyone and tried to FOS the ones I felt were trying to do that and that's, of course, Varun. He tried that without any clue and got puzzled yet escaped taking advantage of the newbie talks. I'm not too sure about Don though he needs to contribute a lot and I am not sure if one of them is a townie or not, could be both and they've had quite a fair distance too. Meanwhile Yash tried being passive I believe, unlike Loco who has been playing fairly well, yet not giving enough townie vibes to me. Iceage has been neutral and if there was a person I'd say looks to have a probability of being a townie then that's him.

I'd still say that Musk should claim or I think we all should claim. I know it's crazy but I think that since most of us haven't seen this movie, there's a chance that the mafia might not be knowing what roles there are and will surely get confused and end up losing. What do you guys think?

a lot of times said about claims but no and no one even bothered g iving thoughts about that.

Yeah I mentioned it but didn't notice it got so close to the hammer and he had enough time to claim anyway. The day being so long didn't help that.

And hmm what did you find townie about Simon? Also not sure re the revealed roles, haven't played in a while. Think it was always hosts discretion as to whether the role was revealed. Closed setup just implies roles are not known before the game starts.

of course, Varun. He tried that without any clue and got puzzled yet escaped taking advantage of the newbie talks.

Yeah, reading back on it. I think he confused himself greatly and was trying to work out whether he should be pushing on musk or not. Comes across as "They have better reasons on joe but I don't want to flip my read so I look better once he flips town". That being said, he could have just been genuinely confused by the 'pr soft'. I didn't honestly see it myself and wouldn't have let myself get confused greatly over it but not everyone is like me. Still would be my main fos for now.

I'm fine with musk claiming since players may choose to just use the chance to push on him today instead so I'd rather get down to business elsewhere. A mass claim maybe isn't the best just yet though, especially since we don't know the two dead roles. I'm sure one of them is likely to be a pr if not both, due to being from the main group, so having other prs claim now could be a death wish. If we can get through one more day without everyone having to claim, the night kill may be more favourable for town rather than letting the scum pick off the best claims. It all depends on how today goes though. I think we have enough to go on right now. People need to talk though

I can't say that I'm overly surprised that joe came out as town, I got a newbie read from him that didn't look overtly scummy.

I still think that musketeer is scum; but this early in the day I don't think that holding my vote for now would cause any harm. I'm a little more reluctant than I was on day 2 because of that discussion earlier about whether the guy has a PR; which might explain the way which he has played. I am sceptical of that myself, but its hard to say quite how accurate it is since newbie PR play can look similar to newbie scum play...

Its really late here: I'll do a read through tomorrow and share my opinions on everyone else at some point tomorrow.

I think we all should claim.

...I think that we are still too early for a mass claim at this point. There are still too many players around to make it more likely in my opinion that we mislynch someone in the post mass-claim confusion than if we only push for claims when needed. Also as hedger said above we don't know what joejoe and simon's roles are: so it might be easy for scum to false claim and be hidden enough to cause a mislynch today...
