Indian Premier League 2011: Chris Gayle lined up as Dirk Nannes' replacement | Cricket News | Indian Premier League 2011 | ESPN Cricinfo
Massive , massive replacement should he get the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from WICB . The franchise is just in tatters atm , and like I earlier said , are expected to concede 175 runs on an average basis with the ball . So , its upto the batting department and Gayle's inclusion definitely means Dilshan is out owing to his horror form .
Probable playing XI after Gayle's arrival :
Mayank Aggarwal
Chris Gayle (4) - 3 overs max
Virat Kohli (6) - 2 overs max
AB de Villiers (+)
Saurabh Tiwary
Cheteshwar Pujara
Asad Pathan - 2 overs max
Daniel Vettori (3) (*) - 4 overs
Zaheer Khan (1) - 4 overs
Charl Langeveldt (2) - 4 overs
Abhimanyu Mithun/Sreenath Arvind/Ryan Ninnan (5) - 3 overs max
Might look strange and new , but this is possibly their best xi IMO , because van der Wath just doesn't seem to possess those allround skills he used too , so he makes way for a much better and mainly underrated bowler in Langeveldt , who is really good when it comes to death bowling . Also , the addition of Gayle means the omission of an extra bowler , so RCB need not play 2 out of 3 among Arvind/Mithun/Ninnan . So that makes way for a batting slot given to Asad Pathan , who looks to be a decent slogger let alone a part timer .
