I’m surprised that the likes of Bird, Parsons and Simelane weren’t picked. Bird for instance is more of a classical batter but he’s still worth taking a punt on and Parsons is a very economical spinner who can hold his bat. Boast seems to be an online favourite too given his skill with both bat and ball and his aggressive style.
Not sure why the analysts seem to think MI (ugh) Cape Town have no leader in the squad when they’ve got Rassie who was Bavuma‘s backup in the domestic SA team, Rashid Khan who’s been a Afghani captain and Livo’s whose also got some captaincy experience. Apparently they need Eoin to truly lead the side though.
Bavuma feels absolutely like a JSK pick waiting to be made but I hope he goes to a franchise where he’ll be a first teamer rather than a reserve. van Biljon, Jonker, Lubbe are all yet to appear too. It is unbelievable that Dupavillon did not get a single bid at base price, the man’s done decently in the CPL as an overseas pick and apparently he isn’t good enough for his own country’s league?! He’s an absolutely class pacer too, was better than Nortje before his injury woes. Mulder should also have been picked, quite surprising that he hasn’t got in.
