See It's fine If you come up with some insightful criticism of the IPL but saying that strategic time out makes the game longer is absolute nonsense. It usually takes an hour and half for each inning to finish with a ten minutes of break in between the inning and a total of ten minutes of strategic timeout. I mean they have to do the time out to make sponsors happy because they are providing them with shit load of money. If you are criticizing the whole tournament for that extra 10 minutes, it really doesn't make sense to me. Cricket is the most watched sport in India so If your company sponsors a cricket tournament like IPL, it is likely to bring you money and that is why you see so many sponsors in IPL.

That's all fine and dandy, but as fans we shouldn't really care about, instead we should appreciate the strategic timeout for combining the aspect of coaching and captaincy into a T20 inning which we've always got in Tests via the lunch and tea breaks.

No but I'm saying when some games are taking up to 1.5 hours longer than the international equivalent (or when fines and bans start to become introduced) at times something's not quite right to me overall.

That's one criticism I just don't understand. Especially when the same guys criticizing the timeout, sit through NHL, NFL and NBA games which are more than 60-70% breaks and ads.

Johnson having an absolute 'mare this IPL. Parthiv Patel pulled him for boundaries, that is how bad it has been for him. But, this drop in form was inevitable and it is better that this drop happened in the IPL and not during the Ashes.
