So, tell your tricks how you play really short pitch ball to score runs...

Like, what shot you play if the bowler pitch the short ball on the offside and what short you play if he pitches the ball in leg side?

Do you move to ball line and play leg glance? or you try to play cut shot or cover drive?

Let us know...

depends how short. i always stay on leg stump.if its goin leg side then glance it off the back foot quite late. on the offside u shud have room so i normally advance down the wicket and hit it strate down the ground for six. if its too short then try glancing it down to third man

I once played the hook shot against the short pitched ball for 4 runs.
May be u could select the ball length as short at practice at the nets.

Normally ...as "bharat" said.......... leg glance is perfect .....if its pictched on middle and leg............otherwise hook or .............backfoor let cut(if there are no slips !!!).....

here's are my tips...( below tips for RH batsmen )
short pitch on the off - Left+W
very short pitch on the off - Left+Up +W
short pitch on the mid - down+W
very short pitch on the mid - Leave the ball ( A )
short pitch on the leg - Right+W
very short pitch on the off - Right+Up +W

The above is only for playing against fast bowlers

i have tried a lot to time hooks and cuts but alas no results. how the hel did you guys pull these shots off

Leg Glance is the most effective, but the pull/hook shot has a greater chance of scoring boundaries. Depends on the strengths/weakness of your batsmen also. If your batsmen has hook/pull as a special skill then you might as well go for those shots.

I think the short ones are the easier to score off. If it's outside off stump, a back foot square cut over point usually goes for four. If it's straight or leg side, depending how short, a hook or pull often goes for four, even six sometimes with the big hit button, or sometimes that tiny back foot flick off your legs goes really fine for four.

I normally go for the hook, miss, get hit, then run a leg bye.

My timing on all six shots is still appalling. Think I might look at the strengths of my batsman and write them down so I know which ones to try certain shots with.

how can u play leg glance to a short bowling??
