Solve your computer problem with the help of experts!

That would require a new installation of windows. Windows comes in 2 configs.. 64-bit, and 32-bit. You need the 32-bit DVD.

Oh, and another thing.. It is not guaranteed that cricsim will work on all 32 bit systems (windows vista/7). I've seen quite a few people with problems.

Thanks for that Abhas. Well if someone has any a possible solution let me know.
Atm I am running cricsim on another laptop, but it would be highly convenient if I can make it work on this one.

Gosh! My computer just recovered from a terrible virus. It deleted some system files, and thus it didn't allow my computer to start. I couldn't even start it through the safe mode.

Ultimately I had to format the c dirve and re-install the windows.

Stop downloading those dirty things... :sarcasm :laugh

Nah, it's not because of that. I got it from a uni's website.

Looks like I'll have to format my windows again tomorrow. Unknowingly, I used an infected pendrive. Now I've got some flinging viruses that won't allow any anti-virus software to install. I somehow managed to install Avira, but those flinging viruses don't allow it to scan/update.

Had one of most dangerous virus in my pc once time. It was affecting every exe file. I reinstalled windows many times but it wasn't removing. It was because the virus in C drive was affecting other drives if I open them. So I again format and reinstall windows. Then just after installing windows, I installed the Antivirus without opening any drive or folder (except CD drive from which I was installing) and scanned the whole computer and eureka! the virus which was annoying me from many months was finally gone. Didn't had any kind of virus after that. Now I am using my PC without any anti-virus for many months (mine kaspersky antivirus got expired in Feb :p) and never had any trouble. :yes

Most of them don't. Generally viruses attach themselves to startup items/services, thus, executing each time the computer starts.
In Safe mode, only the critical services run automatically. Unless the virus attaches itself to these services, the chances of it executing itself automatically are very slim.
Also, it is not easy to attach to these critical services, since they have heavy restrictions by Windows.

I was right you work for Microsoft :laugh

What you can do if you have a virus like that is download something that formats your hard drive from a live disk, because the virus can't write anything to the disc, and you're formatting the hard drive so it'll be gone.

Well he said he was installing windows and the virus was still there. Dunno how so I suggested the live cd
