btw cricsim works on 32-bit windows 7 doesn't it? Parallels works much better with windows 7 than xp

Using dosbox, it works on 64-bit vista too. Just got it going yesterday.

It's a bit harder to manipulate the team files that way though isn't it?

No, Syedur Rahman's site has new .exe files for one day and tests which are given for win 7. I downloaded those and replaced them with existing ones from normal version. And followed the 'readme'. It works actually the same like it does on any other windows.

May I know why you use virtual XP mode? I mean only for CrisSim or something else too?

cricsim, cricket 07 player editor. why?

Depends how the xp mode was set up - if you created a virtual hard drive for that virtual machine and you still have it, then I think you could use that virtual hard drive as a sort of external drive for a new xp mode system

I have no idea what you just said so I'm guessing I didn't do that. I just followed the setup windows xp mode from the microsoft website.

no cant be bothered with dos box, xp mode is way quicker /easier.
Actually, if you follow the read me in Syedur's site which comes with new exe files I'm sure you will find dos box much easier.

no, ive used it before, typing commands n ████, xp mode opens in like 2 seconds then just works as usual.

Ah, alright. For vista, there is no virtual mode so I tried using virtualbox and got to nothing. And, yesterday got it working in a minute with dos box. So, was letting you know. Nice, you're comfortable with virtual mode.

yeah, thanks. I have tried dosbox before and it didnt work. i guess the update at the site would fix it, but xp mode is defs easier to use.:thumbs

Does anyone know reasons why my hard drives get so hot? It's a desktop computer, but using speedfan, my hard drives regularly get to 50 degrees Celsius, with one of them getting higher if I play games. Normal temperatures for hard drives are in the 30s. It looks like there is plenty of room around the hard drives from what I can see. They are pretty close to the graphics card though, but that doesn't normally get higher than 60. The CPU idles at 42 (which is pretty high itself), and gets into the mid 50s under load (which is pretty low). I don't understand why the hard drive gets so hot though.

Space doesn't mean a lot without airflow. As the surrounding air gets hotter, heat transfer decreases. You have to move the hot air away.
